About the Game

Story Granblue Fantasy takes place in the Sky Realm, a world where myriad islands float in a great blue expanse. Assume your role as the captain of a skyfaring crew, joined by a scrappy little dragon named Vyrn and a young girl with mysterious powers named Lyria. Together you sail with a colorful cast of crewmates, including kings and misfits alike, for Estalucia, a fabled island beyond the end of the skies. In the Zegagrande Skydom, islands are guarded by powerful creatures known as primal beasts and winds carry tales of a secretive organization known as the Church of Avia. Unveil a web of intrigue reaching far beyond the borders of Zegagrande and engage in a battle for the fate of the Sky Realm itself. Gameplay Engage in real-time combat with a party of four in this character action RPG—choose from a diverse roster of skyfarers, each with their own unique weapons, skills, and combat styles. Teamwork makes the dream work with party-based mechanics such as Link Attacks and Chain Bursts to help you crush foes in spectacular fashion. Tackle quests solo or with the help of others for up to 4-player co-op and take down treacherous foes to score rare loot to further enhance your gear. Every enemy and party formation has its own strengths and weaknesses—the key to victory lies in working out how these pieces fit together. Fast-paced combat not your thing? Assist modes can provide accessibility for gamers of all skill levels. Toggle on Full Assist to have all actions performed automatically during battle! The Sky Realm is rich in lore and history. Browse Lyria's journal at any point during the game to access a trove of writings on the world's peoples, places, and more. In addition to the wealth of side quests available, Fate Episodes allow you to delve into the backstories of each member of your crew!

Mediocre main story, slightly better character short-stories but great gameplay. Also looks good and runs well without melting your PC.

What fun game, a pleasant surprise. To quickly convey what this game is like, I will compare it. It is an interesting mix between Final Fantasy XIV, Kingdom Hearts and Monster Hunter. It has the visuals of Kingdom Hearts and the perfect blend between skill based and RPG mechanic based combat, well designed well telegraphed bosses like Monster Hunter with the part collecting to upgrade and make weapons and sigils aswell as the mission select style 4 player co-op , and has the same style of mechanics and AoE indicator's etc of FFXIV while also looking an feeling much like a Final Fantasy with the airships, summons etc. I wrote this off as a phone game cash in since the original version of this game is a Gacha phone game with no substance. This game is absolutely worth your time and money if you like ANY of these game's, the visuals, build variety and easy to learn but hard to master gameplay make this a must have IMO. The one fault I have with this game, is that narratively it su...

Play this game. My absolute favorite action combat system. It's so fluid, and you can literally dodge cancel out of anything; it feels so smooth to play. If they added in an endless-type content like a boss tower or something, I'd still be playing to this day.

I really wanted to be able to recommend this game, but it's just not worth full price and if you are playing this alone it's not even worth half price. I guess I could recommend it if you have a group of friends that are willing to grind post-story, but I don't see a reason to. The rest of this post will hopefully get you to understand why.

Graphically the game does a perfect conversion of Granblue's already top tier art style and blends 3D assets with 2D backgrounds to create a some of the best looking zones for an Anime style game at least that I've played.
The Action Combat is smooth with unique animations that look great for each Character. This is kinda impressive because there are 20 or more characters that each have their set of skills and animations.
Game runs fine, no bugs, no stutter, no crashes, fast loading, nothing super frustrating about the UI or anything.

Story Campaign
But man...the plot of the main story missions is so...

TLDR: I recommend the game but I recommend getting it on sale. Great gameplay with a small amount of content and a bad targeting system and a very [strike]mediocre[/strike] terrible story. I would love to sing this games praises more as it is one of the funnest action rpgs I've played gameplay wise in a long time. Maybe even ever. But unfortunately there are just a lot of areas where it falls short.
Gameplay:
As I mentioned the gameplay is really awesome and fun. However, it's also ruined by one of the worst targeting systems I have ever had the displeasure of suffering in gaming. I turned off all of the camera auto correction settings which helped some at least but it's still really bad. I try to just not use the lock on or turn it on and back off. Other than that there is also the sever lack of content. I can already tell now I'm going the run out of stuff to do in this game quick and that's such a shame because you don't really get a chance to explore the awesome c...

Honest review? I just bought it yesterday on sale and i've been playing it since 3:30 pm it's now 2:10 am. I honestly didn't expect this good of a game for what i paid for it. You have the ability to switch between 18 different characters all with different fighting styles which makes the game worth playing. That within itself takes away the boredom factor. The combat system is great. Only thing i have a complaint about is when you start the game the story is kind of slow moving. This game is by far mediocre. Highly underrated game.

I played this game for 6 hours on Story mode and was bored and frustrated with the constant combat. It was one huge battle after another with very little of anything else going on in the game. I will admit that I not really a pro at combat. This game is geared towards players that just want to fight all...the time and not do much else. It is really hard to choose games going by reviews because so many love combat therefore ranking games higher for that reason. I was hoping for a balance of combat, story, relationship's and exploration and this game has very little of that. Just fighting, fighting and more fighting. Unless you love fighting non stop then I don't recommend playing this game.

Straight away, I’ll say I’m not familiar with the Granblue universe or any other games in the series. From the perspective of someone who knows the genre well but isn’t attached to the IP and with a fairly high tolerance for nonsense, this game was an absolute snoozefest. The story feels like something straight out of a low-tier anime you’d randomly stumble upon because the poster looked cool, only to regret it. Honestly, a lot of mobile gacha titles tell a stronger story than this. Gameplay is fine. It’s definitely best played with a controller, but even then I can’t say the combat or exploration carried the experience for me. I didn’t enjoy fighting most enemies, though I will give credit to the companions. Their designs and varied playstyles were a highlight. Unfortunately, thanks to the toddler-level writing, I never managed to actually connect with any of them. In the end, the game felt like a waste of both money and time. I tried to push through, but with ...
