Pac Adventures 3D

this game brought my wife back to me, thanks to this game i can be eternally happy, as long as i have Pac Adventures 3D my life is complete and every second playing is treasured. I even bought my 2 friends a copy to show them how good it is, thank you creator of this game, you've made my world

It sucks having to give this a negative review, as it looks like some effort and love were put into the game. I was very hesitant to drop 20 bucks on it, but when I saw it on sale for $0.89 that seemed like a very reasonable price. There are tons of unique levels (at least 200) and four game modes. If your plan to complete the game there's a lot to keep you busy. I really liked the MIDI music used. When I opened the program I was greeted with a MIDI version of Haddaway's "What Is Love" which put a nostalgic smile on my face. The MIDIs go well with the gameplay and are definitely a positive. Why the negative review? The game feels slow when you play it, so much so that it takes the fun out of it. Even with the skateboard (very temporary) speedup item you're still going a little slower than it feels like you should. My 5900X and RX 580 Golden Sample can more than handle the 3D rendering so it's an intentional design choice. Control is wonky, which is odd considering the slow pace of...

This might look like a [i]Pac-Man[/i] knockoff, and it kind of is, but frankly it's actually awesome. If you were a kid with a lousy PC around the early 2000's, there's a good chance you downloaded a ton of shareware games off of various sites. These oftentimes weren't made by known companies, usually just a couple people or even one person and nowadays we see that as "indie games" but back then they weren't really noticed by the mainstream gaming press (outside of the early Shareware mega-hits like [i]Doom[/i] and [i]Duke Nukem[/i]) and are often overlooked in the annals of gaming history. These were usually clones or heavily inspired by old arcade games and [i]Pac-Man[/i] was not only my favorite type of game at the time, it was also probably the biggest inspiration for a lot of those shareware makers. This game is one of those early 2000s games that comes bundled into your mother's laptop, and I love it. If you're not going to buy it for the gameplay alone, you should at least buy it for the OST. Trust me, it's brilliant and is sure to bring a smile to your face
