About This Game

In SuperMash, you're an independent video game store clerk who's found a special magical game console. It spews out retro games with crazy randomized titles, mashed-up gameplay and objectives, and even authentic bugs - all of which you'll get to play! Including elements of multiple classic game genres, from Action Adventure to JRPG, SHMUP to Classic Platformer, every mashed boot-up is an unexpected surprise!

 • EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED! – Glitches, goals, and obstacles change up the gameplay, so you never know if you're headed to an easy win - or an near impossible challenge!

 • CUSTOMIZE YOUR GAMES! – With Dev Cards, you can customize elements of each Mash, like enemies, players, mechanics, and environments. Keep playing to collect them all!

 • THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! – With genres including Platformer, Action Adventure, Shoot ‘Em Up, Metrovania, Stealth, and JRPG, there are all kinds of wacky - sometimes wonderful, sometimes scary - ways that gameplay, bugs and objectives can randomly combine.

 • CHALLENGE YOUR FRIENDS! – Share each Mash’s unique code with a friend or streamer to see if they can succeed where you failed—or impress them by completing their “impossible” Mashes!

this game may seem fun like "oh BRO THIS GAME HAS A LOT OF REPLAY VALUE AND EACH GAME IS UNIQUE, I TOTALLY HAVE TO PLAY THIS" or something else. This game is not that good. you go into the game and realize you only have 5 genre's to mash and each time you mash they use sprites that do NOT fit they environment. the sprites literally look like a cropped png. Do not buy this, its not cool...not cool one bit.

A game i feel it was made exclusively for me... pure procedural chaos. Ok lets start by saying that these are not "games"; they are "mini games". even if you choose long duration, you can still complete them in a matter of minutes. Here anything goes. I see lots of people complaining that the games are way too random, but thats the charm, maybe your mission is to rescue someone who happens to be on the next screen, completing the game in 5 seconds. or maybe the condition and parameter make the game unbeatable. i love that. i love having to adapt to whatever the game throws t me. its fresh everytime. but, its not perfect: the maps are premade, which i feel was a bad decision. they should have been procedural for even more chaos. also the game has bugs (glitches are a game feature, but im talking about real bugs), but nothing too big. this concept is something that needs to be expanded upon. this cant be the only game of this style... this more than a review is a feedback to the devs. p...

This is a great little time killer. I hope Digital Continue makes a sequel!

A really cool idea marred by a really terrible UI and lackluster story. Also, don't forget they went to Epic first and only buy i on a huge sale like I did. Update: After giving it a fair shake, it's also tremendously buggy and has too few game types.

Love this game already, glitches (no,not like real glitches, glitches made on purpose.) can be annoying at some times but the thing im gonna like is that i can see new genres of games coming soon! the only one i have spotted is a genre named Brawler, and just one other i couldnt know what it was saying. Edit: i hope there could be some steam workshop support soon. i would love that too.

It's a unique auto generated game. Missons tend to be often very similar but there is always different glitches. A unique touch I saw was each auto generated game has it's own little backstory for why your playing the "game" like every video game. The only glitch I see is with the flying mission which is if you try to barrell roll it doesnt work then u cant shoot and in shooting as planes sometimes if u die u never respawn/get the restart u should. Through the ramble I would say it's a good time killer if you just want good casual fun to kill stress tho some of the hard mode glitches uggh lol I'd wait for a discount but like $15 vs th e current $20

So far I've had mash-ups soft-lock, and whole game just crash, but I'd rather focus on a game design failure instead of random coding errors. The story quests cannot tell when you've already done something in the journal. Did you already find one of the special stones in the adventure games? Well, too bad, find another one. Oh, you already completed the special stealth level after getting all the key cards. Sorry, you didn't have the quest, yet, so that time didn't count. I should not be getting punished because the game's RNG decided to put me ahead of part of the story line.
English:
Paragraph #1, Collectors. Paragraph #2, Experience. Paragraph #3, Review. I grant this game the title of Rare Gem. This is indeed an interesting approach for a game and it is, in fact, its peculiarity which awards it with an almost instant recommendation, but it is due to it actually working that it has earned it. I think this is one of those games there aren't two of and that every game collector should have. There are very few games I honestly think fit the category and this is truly one of them. As you know, the game combines two genres of video games and delivers you one new game based on that. Combinations are extremely vast and the result even more so. For instance, I dedicated myself to mixing the same two genres for about an hour and a half to see if I could get the same result and it didn't happen. I took some pictures of the games I got, which I think were six, just with the same combination. That tells me that 1) either the program has an immense qu...

Honestly, this is the modern equivalent of Action 52. Plus, there is a fundamental problem of "glitches" (these are random modifiers to the game) making games unbeatable 100% of the time they show up. In particular: "Enemies heal" in shmup segments make enemies never die. Speaking of shmup segments, one of the objectives require killing a large number of a certain enemy within the time limit, which can often be mini-boss enemies that will only show up about 6 times max if you're really good.

This game has a really fun mechanic where you take retro genres and "smash" them together to make a new genre. What's cool is the genre's play off each other in kinda surprising ways, which I liked. I've played it for a few hours and the story has me coming back for more! If you're into these kinds of games, you should check it out!
