About the Game

BrawlQuest is a game about FIGHTING, EXPLORING & CREATING. Get ready to embark on a big adventure...

FIGHT

Our combat system mixes tactics and action. You've got to watch your positioning, HP & Mana as you choose to fight via melee or ranged using magic. There are spells & abilities thrown into the mix, and a choice of 3 classes that you can switch between to maximise your damage output.

As your character levels up you have to choose to put points in 1 of 3 character stats: STR (how hard you hit), INT (how strong your spells are) and STA (how many hits you can take). Each one defines your role and ability in combat.

Each mob comes with its own unique abilities and each boss has a strategy you need to learn to succeed. Fight as a group with personal loot for each kill and grind out powerful gear!

EXPLORE

The world of BrawlQuest is entirely hand-crafted. There are secrets hidden all over the place: hidden passageways, bosses, characters & more. It's rare that a partially hidden route off the beaten path won't lead to some rare item and the very best gear in the game can only be earned through investigative work of this nature.

All across the land are human settlements with non-player characters. Each one has a conversation tree and there are over 200 lines of dialogue. From the normal, lore-expositing kind to the downright strange Dancing Men.

Hop on your horse and get moving... there's a lot to see!

CREATE

The world of BrawlQuest is yours to modify: with uninstanced player building, crafting & more. Set up your home with trophies earned from your hardest battles; head down the mines and gather materials to turn into powerful weapons & armour; speak to strange denizens of the world for clues at crafting spells & uncovering secrets.

Is there a Cow mount?

Of course there is.

Anything else?

Yes! Thank you for asking. We've also got...

  • NPCs with conversation trees (and over 100 lines of dialogue!)
  • A large open world with a fair bit of variety
  • Boats! And Pirates! And Pirate Boats!
  • Non-combat Pets that are useless but also adorable
  • An amazing original soundtrack composed by JoeyFunWithMusic
  • Lots and lots (and lots) of items and gear
  • A Prestige system allowing you to make your armour seriously beefy with potentially infinite progression
  • Silly & goofy jokes and Easter eggs. I guess we'd call that "personality"?
  • An extremely slow moving Cow mount, dropped by a Cow mini-boss (he deserves his own spot on this list)
  • No micro transactions! Seriously! If you see a cool mount, you know that that player has EARNED it

Brawlquest is a thoroughly enjoyable top-down 2d graphic RPG game. Most definitely suited to gaming veterans who would have played similar style games many years ago but would also be a great introduction to younger gamers to this genre. WASD character movement and 8 directional combat manoeuvres via the cursor keys. Inventory is seemingly endless and I discovered no limitations of stack size or weight etc. Spells, abilities & consumables are activated via numeral keys once the hotbar is populated. Selecting items/spells to place on the hotbar is a simple press of the keypad number whilst holding the mouse cursor over said item/spell. The combat is automatic once started and consists of 8 directional attrition to the intended target. Combat is initiated either by the cursor keys or by hostile mobs attacking you. Holding 2 directional keys down at same time will allow for diagonal attacks. During combat the hotbar selections prepared by the player can be selected to add heals, shields...

Was fun at first, now seemingly abandoned several months ago. Sad face. Edit as of 3/11/22: Still abandoned

Amazing game with expansive map. Highly recommended. The game strikes a fantastic balance between difficulty and playability. If you liked Runescape you will love this. There is a vast array of items in this game both to collect and smith with. Levelling up is a truly satisfying feeling and the sound effects, combined with the music and detailed spaces make for an impressively immersive experience. As you level up your character you will find more and more areas of the map with new enemies and quests. Moreover, the characters are well done and quite funny at times. The chat feature works well and was fun talking with other players. This game also lends itself well to playing with others when fighting. It is encouraged as the health of some of the NPC enemies gets quite high. Sometimes I thought the quests could be more elaborate and extensive, however I'm sure this will come with updates. The soundtrack is perfect with a diverse array of instrumentation that fit each of the areas of th...

So this game is still in easy access but shows a lot of potential. Currently, there is roughly 20-30 hours of gameplay baked in and a small amount of players. With that being said, once more people find out about this game I am sure that there will be an active playerbase. Fairly stable, some bugs/glitches here and there but it's early access so you should expect that kind of thing. Out of all of my gameplay so far I think I've only had one CTD. If you want a MMORPG that reminds you a little bit of OSRS or RPGs from the late 90s/early 2000s, this is your game!

Brilliant game that you can just get lost in. I've already put a good few hours in since launch and will put many more. Everything about the game is satisfying from mining ores to killing bosses. Cannot recommend this game enough to anyone that is looking to buy a new game!

I picked up this game today because it reminded me a good bit of RPGMO visually. The game is its own unique game with crafting, exploring, combat and items. Your basic open world RPG with a bit of nostalgia. I'll be playing this as my main game until I run out of content :) ~OmegaXtc
