His community is defending him at all costs. 4/16/2023 Update: Developer is banning those who report bugs in the steam forums section of the game from the Steam Forums section. This also applies if you say the game is buggy, incomplete, or glitchy. 4/20/2023 Update: The developer had his sole english speaking members harass me constantly lately. It's been going on for a while now. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THE REVIEW FULLY. While Dark Witch may be a series loved by many, this game is the worst of all. Not only has NAN-A, the main developer, lazily ported the game from Switch, he has single-handedly made as many bad choices as possible in the creation of this game. Let's start at the beginning. The Original Demo for the game, released for the Nintendo Switch as a special bonus for purchasing a Physical Copy of Brave Dungeon 1, wa...

About This Game
The first game was developed by Japanese indie studio INSIDE SYSTEM in 2014 and released as a 3DS download by Circle.ent, and the series has sold over 450,000 copies.
◆What is "Brave Dungeon"?
Brave Dungeon, an offshoot of the Dark Witch series, was featured in Nindies, the predecessor to Nintendo's Indie World, and was exhibited at the Nintendo booth during Bitsummit. It has sold a total of 100,000 copies worldwide.
●Overview
A sequel that inherits the basic system of the previous Brave Dungeon from the Dark Witch series. You can play three different stories with their own systems and protagonists.
-Al: Walk through the vast Forest of Miracles and look for the exit of the forest. Collect a limited number of "GrassKeys" to get through the countless "IvyDoors" that blocks your path. You can further your exploration by picking up the pieces of Syega
scattered throughout the forest and use them to create "Seama Items".

-Klinsy: The goal is to find the "Unsealing Books" hidden in the three library stacks known as the "Unopened Archives". There are many "Sealing Traps" in the library that tests the wisdom of intruders.

-Papelne: Papelne is brought to an empty plain. She begins to build her city from scratch. Gather materials to craft new tools and objects.
You are free to build and decorate the city as you wish. Let's build a more attractive city and get more visitors!

UPDATE (6/1/23): While the game is """fully released""" now, the game has barely changed since my review, and I stand by almost everything I said here. DO NOT BUY! TL;DR: Don't buy, especially in it's current state. Play the original if you want a good version of this game. I really wanted to recommend this game, especially with me being a big fan of Legend of Dark Witch. Brave Dungeon 2 makes a lot of improvements over its predecessor. The level up system is cool, the dungeons are actually dungeons this time around, and the partner system is cool. You can run away from encounters. I love the UI as well. But at the same time, there's a lot wrong with it as well. The game is too easy, even on Lunatic. I've only died once so far, and that's because I was playing recklessly. The Capacity Meter refills like crazy, meaning you can pump out strong attacks like it's nothing. With the partner system, it makes it even worse as using a partner move only consumes the user’s meter...
This game is a cursed entity that seems to only bring out the worst in people, and I've seen so much toxic positivity and toxic negativity around it that I'm just tired of it and wish this game never existed in the first place. For now, though, all I can do is try to convince people to stay away from this game. I do kinda like it, though, I must admit. Update 4/15/23: It has come to my attention that people are getting banned from the community hub for calling out the game's many technical problems, and now that it's out of early access, I should point out that this is not good behavior. I still recommend you stay away from this game, as even without this behavior, it isn't even worth its price of half, let alone a third, of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The only entry in The Legend of Dark Witch that despite receiving the game, never finished it nor even cared to, yet I'm not reccomending it.. Expect for some core elements from the game to not be in review because of this change: This game wasn't what I've expected it to be. After watching some gameplay of Nightmare and Godshill in this game, something told me that this game just uses a heavily modified Brave Dungeon Switch engine. This isn't too bad, but the engine isn't optimised properly like the Hedgehog Engine. This is even more evident because most of the ports from the games still have the switch control scheme without giving a full explanation on how the PC's keyboard controls are yet. And what's funny is that this is actually rare to come across in PC games in general because of Nintendo's exclusivity on most of their games, so seeing a game directly ported from Switch without any significant changes makes people question on the programming side of things. Next, on top of...
I have loved all the Brave Dungeon games. This game is basically RPG comfort food. There is no huge story line or complex mechanics, it's all about the turn based battles and exploring dungeons. Great for a pick up and play for a bit and enjoy the great artwork. Some of the text is not translated, but nothing essential is missing. A new favorite game.
Don't let the franchise die...
I don't know if I would recommend, because it want let me past the title screen. What can I do or is this a controller only game?
I really want to like this game, but there are always updates and nothing is fixed. Not the glitches, not the translations, nothing. In fact it seems the only thing being worked on is DLC for the game, and adding lewd art of characters.
Wow... This... Is the WORST GAME... I have ever played in... LIFE... I cannot believe it... The actual BS..... And let me tell you, I have played other bad games.... This is is the literal WORST INDIE GAME EVER MADE ALSO, THIS GAME COSTED A GODDAMN FRIENDSHIP OF MINE DO NOT SPEND $30 on this horrible game To any upcoming Indie Game Developer: If you have a game but it doesn't turn out the way you want it to, or people say it isn't good... remember that THIS ABOMINATION exists To the L Dev: You don't care about criticism, you don't care about anything, do ya?
This is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played.
