About This Game

EXFIL delivers a distilled, authentic tactical experience where every match challenges your decision-making, teamwork and situational awareness. Built for players who value realism, EXFIL strips away grinding, magical perks and ‘gear fear’ to focus on pure tactical combat at infantry level.

The Early Access release includes two intense extraction game modes:

• Classic Extraction: Compete to secure intel and escape. Only one team will make it out alive.

• Rogue Extraction: A high-stakes asymmetrical mode where a small rogue team of must outmaneuver a larger force to escape with valuable intel.

EXFIL’s objective-based gameplay is fast-paced and straight to the point, offering infantry combat that balances realism with accessibility. Whether playing against others or cooperating with friends, you’ll experience scenarios that demand tight communication, calculated movement and sharp tactical skills.

Immersive and Dynamic Environments

Fight across six handcrafted maps featuring dense forests, industrial zones and military camps. With a 24-hour day/night cycle and fully simulated weather systems, matches are always unpredictable and ever-changing. Sandstorms, fog, and rainstorms will push your adaptability and ‘on-the-fly’ team tactics to the limit.

Hardcore Realism, No Nonsense

EXFIL’s fully simulated ballistics model accounts for bullet drop, penetration and ricochet. Combine this with realistic player movement, weapon handling, and VOIP-enhanced communication—including proximity chat, and every match becomes a test of skill and strategy.

Built for the Community

With a dedicated Discord community of over 3,000 members, EXFIL is constantly evolving based on player feedback. Self-hosted servers and dedicated hosting options give you precise control over gameplay rules and settings, whilst detailed after-action reviews allow teams to analyze every hit, shot, and movement.

A Sandbox of Possibilities

EXFIL is more than just its core game modes. With the upcoming scenario editor, you’ll have the freedom to craft and share missions, tweak rules and design thrilling challenges from the ground up. Whether creating asymmetric PvP, immersive PvE missions or unique challenges, the possibilities are endless.

Early Access and Beyond

The Early Access launch is just the beginning. Over the next 12-18 months, we’re focused on expanding the toolset, adding new features and building a game shaped by the community.

Expect NPC opposition forces, new modes, global stats tracking, loadout customization and more as we continue to grow EXFIL into the ultimate tactical sandbox.

Whether you're looking for quick, intense battles or tools to create your own scenarios, EXFIL is your playground for tactical combat without compromise.

This review is a Long Time coming, well researched with over 200 hours under my belt, much deserved and in many ways long over due. I am a Hardcore PvP player with decades of FPS gaming experience that stretches back to the early days of multiplayer QuakeWorld, Unreal Tournament, CS 1.6 and RS:3. I started playing this game during the February 2025 Free Weekend and can honestly say that the past six months have been some of the most enjoyable times in my well over 20 year experience with PC Gaming. This was a result of the experiences I had in this groundbreaking game and my interactions with the Devs and Discord Community they have built up around this game. As I mentioned previously, I like Hardcore PvP shooters and can appreciate games with High Skill Gaps where communication, proper tactics, terrain knowledge and overall skill are rewarded. This is the game for you, if you crave a realistic, competitive, small squad, objective based experience. For me, this game revives much of th...

This game is an odd duck. It scratches a real itch but that itch might not be one everyone has. I can strongly recommend it now…. for the right kind of person. For some others it might be a “wait and see” title. At its core this game wants to be a PvP tactical experience, but if thats what you’re looking for it isn’t quite there yet. The player base is low so finding matches will be a chore. That said, the community is active. Devs are constantly online and communicating which is a good sign. The saving grace is that even in this early stage we have competent AI to hold us over until PvP becomes more viable. With a fistful of game modes and settings to make the AI as plentiful as you want it to be theres a solid casual tactical shooter here, and thats the real advantage this game has over almost every other game like it thats out right now. This game can be a very casual pop-in pop-out tactical experience with rounds that last as little as 10 minutes. On its default setti...

It's a shame that a game with such promising potential is hampered by its current inactivity, clunky mechanics and being so bare bones. Even the tutorial is more of a showcase than a tutorial.

Exfil is a hardcore tactical shooter that strips away the excess of modern shooters in favor of raw, grounded gameplay that prioritizes realism, communication, and teamwork. Developed by Tiny Leviathan and published by MicroProse, the game is currently in Early Access and positions itself as a spiritual alternative to titles like Escape from Tarkov or Squad, albeit with a leaner, more stripped-down approach. At its core, Exfil is about survival and strategy—no gimmicky progression systems or overdesigned gear loops, just tight, nerve-wracking firefights and a focus on extracting with your life intact. The result is a brutally focused experience that leans into its no-nonsense identity with confidence. Matches in Exfil are structured around a single-life format, meaning each decision carries serious weight. The primary game modes—Classic Extraction and Rogue Extraction—create scenarios where you and your team must gather intel and make it out alive. In Classic Extraction, multipl...

Its a sweet preview. Obviously this is just a sanded down and primed hot rod. Eventually it will be to the finishing buffing stages. It all looks promising. There's even PvE difficulty settings up to 11!. Thats one more then what you get at 10!. The spinal tap reference makes me love this more lol keep it up devs, prepare for basecoat!!!

another enjoyable shooter.. ´ve played this solo and its fun to do every now and then. can immagine that coop would be a total blast as mp could be a total fun mess. However i would buy this for solo or coop with friends instead unless you want to hop into a mp event once a week or come back when its been developed more on that basis. Its a very enjoyable shooter if you change the mouse setting a bit more to being responsive instead. Bought this as a bundle with the game "Ground Branch", im happy with my purchace!

Sorry I would like to rate this game high and say the 8 months of dev time are top notch but there are games already out there with much better weapons handling, games with far more realistic world environments, and new games that take fps to the maximum far beyond the limited servers/hosting this currently has to date. Is the idea a good one, yes. Are the use of exfil and infil methods interesting yes. But this game is trying to be ultra realistic to the point it is not realistic. Physical elements like running are totally annoying rather than realistic. People run fast as hell between cover and when comms tells you incoming mortars on your location! i don't jog between spots! Rain and other natural effects are way over the top, i've never been in an engagement where the rifle fire is softer than the rain! The game also plays with lighting in a very unusal manner. The lighting is suppose to add visual depth and realism but to the point it becomes unrealistic. Sometimes ...
