MARS OR DIE! V.1.2 UPDATE

Comrades! Huge update! A whole brand 9-missions new Campaign, new Defensive Turrets, new bigger and badder Aliens, Hardcore difficulty, tons of new content!

About the Game

TOUCHDOWN IS IMMINENT: MARS WILL BE OURS!

The Interplanetary Spacecraft FORTITVDO VIII carries our Intrepid Explorers who are tasked with Scouting the Martian soil, Fighting the disgusting Martian natives, and Building Defensible Outposts spearheading our inevitable conquest. Our Supremely Illuminated Leader has bestowed upon YOU the honor of commanding them: survive, gather, and build our way to victory!

Scout B. Bean, Engineering Corps

Top of his class, the fastest runner of our Glorious Army. Equipped with a personal Energy Repulsion Shield, capable of deflecting the most devastating of blows! Scout Bean loves flowers, and beans.

Major B. Bob, VI Assault Division

Implacable marksman with a fervent passion for our cause, chocolate, and ballet! Major Bob may move slower, but no Martian will be quick enough to run away and tell the tale.

Base Building

Our Explorers hold all the necessary blueprints for efficient on-site mining operations and base building including Automatic Extractors, O2 Generators, Armories, Single-Barrel and Double-Barrel Automatic Defence Turrets, and the most important of them all, our Glorious Flag!

A Campaign to Remember

The Masterful Invasion Plan we envisioned is divided in 9 Missions. Our conquest will be swift, sure, and certain! But, in case the pitiful Martians manage to put up a fight due to their sheer number, we are also prepared to entrench and endure an Endless warfare.

It will be glorious! Mars, or Die!

Extremely shallow tower defense game. Has good graphics but there's nothing "roguelite" about this as was advertised on the Store page. There's also no real survival elements. You run around, gather resources, build towers to fight off waves, then grab upgrade crates. Repeat. That's the whole game. I guess they added on needing oxygen so they could call it survival as well as roguelite? I wouldn't have an issue with this if the game was $5 or $10. But for $20 you could get a game like Slay the Spire instead. This will keep you entertained for maybe 5 hours. Slay the Spire will keep you entertained for 30+ hours. Economically for video games, $4 per hour of entertainment is a little steep. Imagine if a AAA 50 hour game cost $200. Pros/cons below. Pros: - Good graphics for an indie - Amusing atmosphere, the game accomplishes its goal of being lighthearted - Acceptable music Cons - Extremely shallow and basic - No roguelite and minimal survival elements despite both being advertised - ...

Don't be sucked in by the amazingly pretty and intriguing video trailers (as I was). The reviews are spot on. There isn't enough to the game other than some pretty landscapes and nice alien animations. If this game was early access, then it would get neither a yes or no vote. But, it is definitely not ready for full release. What is there feels a little clunky. Too bad ... it looks sooo good in the trailers!

As it stands, I find that the turrets are very under powered (the 3rd mission seems impossible unless you have at least 15-20 turrets), the reliablility of the blaster is basically non-existent (with the blaster not firing or firing through nearby enemies without damaging them) and the game as a whole does seem very limited in terms of content. Good ideas, brilliant design, just needs more work on balancing and controls.

I really don't get the bad reviews and I'm glad I ignored them, because this game is really quite entertaining! : )

https://youtu.be/0szgGvTJ0fc I liked this game, simple and nice ideas. If only there is more level, 6 levels is not enough at all. Also needs more buildings and charecters. I hope there is an update for this game soon!

For the price? Not shabby. Fun story & kinda odd TD. Am enjoying it, so unsure why all the negativity?

Guys please fix the (hit boxes / bounds whatever) for the environment or something why do I have to get stuck on every thing my AI buddy gets stuck on everything. I already can not rotate the camera WTH? This is severely aggrevating please tell me this was not the intended user experience. So far that's been my experience with this game. I tried this because it had controller support but now I don't know if that it even makes it justifiable purchase I do not recommend at this time.

This game is right on the edge of being good. But it's not really. It's free. Which is nice. But it's kind of huge mess when you play it. Too easy to just get steam rolled by a team full of people with more time and money sunk into the game. Quake wars was better.
