Fan of platformers? Don't play this game then, it's an insult to the genre. As of writing this review, I have not finished the game, but plan to in the future and will update my review to reflect when I have. So, first off the story. The story is pretty basic, and doesn't keep me engaged in any way, especially because the gaemplay has nothing to do with the story. In order to help people believe in Yemanja again you need to... find books on the bottom of the ocean? and then whern you come back, the books have nothing to do with the solution to their problem as your character just explains the situation to them. Why couldn't he do that before jumping around the ocean floor? The music is the most redeeming quality of the game to be honest, it's fine. It didn't really bother me and fit quite well but I'd never listen to it outside of the game. Eventually I got tired of it and muted the game in favor of my own music however. The actual gameplay, which is platforming around the ocean f...

In short, Queen of Seas 2 is a simple retro platformer, with some heavy subjects and great soundtrack. Although the player's overworld speed is a bit slow for my taste, I'm sure that was the purpose. Got a lot of relax vibes, to enjoy the ride. Even so, I think a "run" button would have been nice, for those who like to GO FAST!!! Since I'm talking about the game's world, I loved the sidequests, especially "When life gives you lemons". There's a decent amount of stuff to explore, which is nice. About the suits, the new one is faster and jumps higher than the old suit, great for those who like mobility. The old one is good for late-game stages, since it has more health upgrades and can get almost as good as the new one, but it requires you to grid a little bit before getting to that point. Both get acess to double jump and net throwing if you buy the upgrade for it, so the old one is better overall, but I prefer the new suit because of its mobility right from the get-go. Also loved t...

I got this game at 90% off, cost me like 50 cents, still not worth it. And here I thought they'd do better than the first game. Well..they did..but only a little. Honestly I really did want to like this game! The pros: Graphics is nice - I like the old sierra quest esque thing this game got going on here. But the story element is really weak and boring so you don't really do much with that. Music is nice. yeh..uh..that's about it. The cons: Still the main mechanics is well..snailing your way through the ocean floor. AGAIN. And I understand this is what underwater 'platforming' should be. But this game has no atmosphere, no story, just the same level on repeat pretty much. Every little thing that touches you kills you and you have to do it all over again. Grind your way through coins to upgrade your gear. It's boring. Plays like a$$ Grab a snail, put it on a plate, spin it around a little and sing it a song, you'll have more fun. Don't bother. Again, this game shouldn't cost ...

This game is MUCH better than the prequel, seriously, don't bother getting QoS 1. Queen of Seas 2 is an almost mario like platformer with some upgrades reminiscent of the late 00s flash games. The story is kind of meh, but its got an overworld and a few quests that are fun little things. Plainly, this game has content, and while not an amazing game, it's entertaining enough to warrant playing. If you are into trying new indie platformers, for $1 I think you might like it. I didn't enjoy the grinding for all the gear, but at the same time, you're able to beat the levels without the gear. The only complaint I have is that the game starts you off SO SLOW, but once you get the upgrades you're golden. This is a show of progress from the dev and I commend them for this. The game is original and someone put work and effort into making it, and it shows.

I can't believe i forgot to write a review about this. But regardless, here is my take on Queen of Seas 2. The positives: A very entertaining storyline in which you help solve and console villagers who are suffering with inner and outer conflicts. A fairly low price OK gameplay The Negatives: Did I mention the gameplay was just OK. So thats about it, i recommend this game, but im not ecstatic about it like other games.
