Game has a lot of potential but you CANNOT play it offline at all, even in single player mode. Pretty much makes this game not work for one of the reasons I wanted it which is offline Steam Deck play.

Play together to build a functioning village, complete with formidable defenses, towering structures and top-of-the-line crafting stations! Or just an aesthetically pleasing Viking homestead with some well-earned decorations! The game difficulty adapts to the amount of players in a world. Note that we recommend taking on Ragnarök with a tribe of four or more.

User Reviews
I'm not a huge "gamer" and very picky about the games I play. What's nice about this game is you can play it at your own pace, for however long you want. I prefer casual games to help me decompress at the end of the day. I see this as that type of game. The simple task of collecting things with the occasional battle is enough to keep me interested. I like the cooperative aspect of it which makes it more fun to play with coworkers.
Wish I had played this sooner: T_T such a great game! This is exactly what I imagine when I think of an RPG: farming mats, taking on boss fights with friends, and defending bases. It nails that open-world survival niche. I’d love to see more updates and content, even if it’s through DLC. Or better yet, just make a Tribes of Midgard 2! Just take my money and keep making games like this!
Tribes of Midgard: A Viking Saga That Sinks Under Its Own Grind Tribes of Midgard rolled in promising sprawling Yggdrasil defense, raidable villages, class builds, and endless night invasions. Instead, its repetitive resource loop, bland skill choices, and punishing progression turn what should feel like a heroic clan adventure into a slog through the same handful of activities—over and over again. Gameplay and Mechanics You’d expect robust Norse-inspired systems and meaningful class diversity, but Tribes of Midgard leans on grinding the same resources and enemies until you hit an invisible wall. Progression feels artificially gated—weeks into your run, you’re still scrapping the same ores for marginal upgrades. The horde nights are intense at first but quickly become rote when the AI sheepishly sends wave after wave of identical foes. Resource nodes respawn too slowly, forcing long treks across empty biomes Combat lacks impact; swings feel weightless and enemies rubber-band...

JUNK
Bad game. 1) No tutorial 2) Constant glitching on objects and dying due to being stuck 3) have to go around hills cant climb them. 4) Lots of gathering almost nothing to build. why am i gathering 10k diff items? what are they even for? 5) All mini bosses around you will kill you until you reach 3-4 levels above that zone which is super dumb. You just die over n over n over until ur high level enough. there's 0 strategy to it. 6) Range is way too weak. so only 1 build set to fight. 7) Attacking an enemy in front of you attacks left or right from glitches making them miss every time. Full of bugs.
I am an expert open world survival crafter, with thousands of hours craftiong and survivingf succesffully (hardcore even). This game is a solid 6.7/10 FUN AND ENGAGIJNG, ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO. Has a liottle repetitive combat mechancics and easy overall boss fights, good for a STARTER CRAFTER, NOT LIKJE ME WHO IS AND EXPERT
