The game made me a misogynist.
Go into Nvidia control panel and limit the game's frame rate to 60. Then You will have a normally paced game.
There's a reason why I only have seven minutes in the first Guilty Gear installment, lack of proper controller support. I use a Dualshock 4, Dualsense 5, and a Switch Pro controller interchangeably, all don't seem to work properly even in Big Picture Mode/BPM. XBox does seem to partially work but for me only in Big Picture Mode/BPM. I heavily don't recommend playing nearly any fighting game with a keyboard unless you're some time of God. I feel bad not recommending a game, especially from a series I hyperfixate about and obsessed with but I have to not recommend it for the best.
So let me just discuss this game for a second. Any time anyone asks why early guilty gear never sold well show them this game. This game might genuinely be the single worst fighting game i have had the displeasure of playing in my life. There are so many problems that I'm going to go character by character Sol: Staring with our titular protag, the amount of tools they gave this bastard is absolutely unreal. I get hes the "all rounder" along with Ky but if the 3 top tiers genuinely weren't so broken I think he'd be insufferable, but his damage is a necessary evil when the likes of Chipp exist Ky: Take Sol's extremely good close range pressure but mediocre projectile and reverse that idea. The other "Jack of all trades character" but with probably the single best projectile in the game, great for retreat, great for approach, great for chip, the only things he cant do sol probably covers anyways. So just take your pick between the two and pray you dont run into a Chipp, Millia, or Baldh...
I beat arcade mode as Sol, and gave up. This game just wants to kick you in the balls and enjoyment was never considered when designing this game.
kusoge (positive) Why can't Testament tech? Why does Axl have random invuln frames during his moves? Why can Ky perform an infinite with his instant kill starter on most of the cast? Why does an instant kill win the game instead of the round? Why do you get infinite super when below half HP? What happened to the bald doctor? Why can you cancel out of almost any move for free? The unlockable boss character has no hitbox when walking backwards, a full screen super that they can spam that does ~25% of your health if blocked, along with specials that would be insane in almost any other fighting game. Despite all this, they're not a top tier. Almost every character in this game is capable of degenerate robbery tactics. Do not buy this if you want an "honest" fighting game
It's a terrible game.
I had fun for a little while, it is satisfying to see how much the series has grown. However, this game is a broken mess and is not balanced. The arcade mode is a mess and has very overpowered boss encounters towards the end. The game also runs too fast unless you cap the frame rate at 60. Inputs are difficult as well. If you see it for a dollar or two, and you have money to spare, I'd say pick it up, but only if you're already a fan of fighting games. It's fun to look back and wonder how GG was even able to continue after this. I 100% the game and I'm glad I did because I never have to touch it at length again. TLDR; only buy for the novelty and if you're willing to experience a broken game, especially with a friend.
