About This Game

The eternal harvester of galactic empires has returned! Witness massive waves of Creeper flood across the 3D terrain in this real time strategy game where the enemy is a fluid. Build out your economic base with energy and mined wares. Assemble your forces and struggle against the creeper on all fronts as it floods and fills the map. Take the high ground with your forces to avoid the creeper as waves crash around your base. Increase your lines of sight and range on high ground, but beware the aerial units. And, if you last long enough, launch orbital weapons and call down devastating strikes on the enemy.

Creeper World 4 continues the iconic and well received Creeper World RTS franchise, expanding into a new dimension of strategic possibilities and threats. The galaxy once again finds itself culled and utterly in ruins. Guide a scientist and cohorts through the ultimate test of survival and restore hope to the galaxy... one world at a time. Play small maps casually, while pausing and issuing orders. Alternately, play massive maps in real-time with full save support. The choice is yours. Play the story missions, the community crafted missions, or use the built in mission generator for infinite possibilities. Use the map editor to make your own maps for fun and sharing. Create custom units, or even custom game play modes, and share those as well.

Great game. Probably my favorite game across my entire 400 game steam library.

you win in the first like 5 or 10 minutes of a mission once you get the set up correct but then you have to spend 20-60 more minutes after that slowly pushing turrets towards the creep until its destroyed. It has fast forward though so just make sure to use the fast forward feature

Where do I begin... This game has several mechanics that are designed in poor and inconsistent ways that, unless you spend a lot of time trying to decipher it, will serve only to frustrate and irritate you. Let's start simple with a pretty basic interaction. Dark Towers create an area where your towers are disabled. Beacons let your towers work in the dark field within a certain area. Pretty simple, right? Alright, now we add Skimmers. Skimmers are little planes that fly around and, when destroyed, drop a piece of debris that stuns all towers in an area. This debris move in a random direction and a random distance from its point of death, meaning even with proper coverage, towers can still be stunned. If we combine these two, this means your beacons can be disabled at random, thus disabling the rest of your defense, and causing everything to fall apart in that area. You cannot even move your towers if they are disabled, so they are just destined to die. It is entirely rando...

With the Chronom and Mark V map pools, this game is never ending. Map after map after map after map...

I still remember when I first played creeper world as a flash game some time between 2007 and 2010, and oh boy does this game feel like a natural evolution of that. I always thought creeper world was a polished a very fun game, but this game takes it to the next level and adds a lot more replayability and fun. I think the 3d transition was pulled off flawlessly and I hope they make more games in this style in the future. I also think that the multiplayer is a welcome addition. I got a few friends who have never played creeper world to get into this game and it can be a surprisingly good time to try and fight back the tidal waves of creepers with a buddy. My only major critique is that the custom units and custom map creation features are poorly explained and I was never really able to get a good grasp of how to make units or make maps as detailed as I would like. All in all, 9.3/10.

While the normal game-play can get a little repetitive and tedious, I keep coming back to play community made games, specially playing as creeper. This game is genuinely very fun

If you enjoy the other CW games you will also like this one. I have to admit that I like the 2D version better (CW3), but don't regret playing this one as well.
