About This Game

Everybody lies. But what makes you a good detective, is to know which lies to bite into, and which to ignore.

Because the murderer is among these people, and you are the lucky detective assigned to this mess of a case.

It's about the satisfaction of catching someone telling a lie, and getting every little detail out of a conversation.

Gameplay

Tell Me Everything is a text-based short-story adventure game, with a word-puzzle on top. It's a game about pushing your luck and gathering information to catch the killer.

Features

  • The game currently contains the first episode with three variations.
  • Simple point-and-click action. Can be played solely using the mouse.
  • Hint system available if you are ever stuck.
  • Mood-meter to track the suspects four breaking-points.
  • 11 calm jazz soundtracks.
  • New episodes in the works.

Episodes

  • Episode 1 : The Porcelain Paradox
The storekeeper of an antique store is found murdered.
  • Episode 2 : The Horrors of Hospitality
A hospital is shocked when a body turns up.
  • Episode 3 : The Fiscal Freefall
Another murder strikes at a local bank.
  • More episodes in the work

Expectations

The murder mysteries are written to be around 30 minutes each, and since the game has a huge amount of dialogue, it is sadly not fully voiced.

Currently, the three case variations stack around 1-2 hours if you push through, and around 4-5 hours if you like exploring all the possibilities.

The graphics are crude, and the gameplay is simple. It is meant as a thin-mint of an interesting story, not a massive game.

Is it niche? Yes. Might this game not be for you? Maybe.

But for those who love unraveling mysteries, I hope you are up for a challenge or two.

Spoilers

Since this game is a murder mystery, we politely ask all streamers and YouTubers to either not reveal who the killer is in each case, or at least let your audience know that there are spoilers ahead.

The concept is very interesting but sadly the execution is less than optimal. Many things should be improved, but my major problem with it is that It can be very frustrating when a witness clearly contradic himself but you dont have any real way to confront him about his lies. If it was an early acces I would recommand it but has a "complete" game there is just to many thing that still need to be improved (like a notebook that list all the question you've already asked and their answer). Maybe wait a little bit for the game to improve...

I wish I could recommend the game because it's very fun despite somewhat slow and clunky gameplay. The problem is that it's incredibly buggy. Out of the 9 cases, I've only been able to play one without game killing bugs and it doesn't seem to be supported whatsoever by the developer anymore. Bummer.

I really like this game, and wish I could suggest it, but I just can't. Currently, pretty much only the first case works. There's a bug with the constable that stops the other two from working. It's just not worth it to buy a game so broken that you can't access two thirds of it. If this ever gets fixed, I'd gladly review this game positively, but until then, please don't buy it.

Game is incredibly broken, a lot of dialogue options just won't work despite making perfect sense making the game incredibly frustrating to play and progress.

Tell Me Everything is a detective simulator where you are questioning 3 suspects in order to solve a murder. You basically make sentences from a word bank based on the clues that you collected. I was admittedly a little confused with the gameplay, mostly because your choices are very limited to a specific subject. So far I find that playing with hints (on) makes the experience more enjoyable. You still have to decide which suspect is guilty so having hints does not completely ruin the game, it just makes it a lot faster. If you blame the wrong character the game is over, plus you need enough evidence to support your claims or the murderer will get away. I like that uncertainty aspect, it is hard to tell if you have reached the conclusion. Each character has attributes such as frustration and confusion. I am not sure how much impact they have aside from giving a game over. I just try to stay away from maxing them, It would be cool if high anger could trigger a different dia...

Fun idea but buggy, with a counter-intuitive interface that moves slowly. Impossible to win two variations due to major bug that refuses to produce constable's dialog boxes.

Game is so broken and buggy that I can't reliably do anything without another problem popping up out of nowhere, I've had the game bug out every 5 minutes, no exaggeration, it is NOT stable in the slightest, and they were always MAJOR bugs, from save deletion, to not being able to access anything. The game is abandoned anyways so there's not much hope in the bugs getting ironed out sadly.

For a buck, it's a decent bit of fun. The dialogue still needs more work, and its a bit frustrating that the game doesn't give you the option to prod some glaring contradictions in suspects' stories.

This is an interrogation simulator -- you're given a crime to solve and question persons of interest, with choices of words and phrases to choose from as you pursue your line of questioning. The concept is great and during the beginning of its release the developer was clearly passionate about this project, pushing constant updates with new content and fine-tuning the parse vocabulary. However, updates have fallen off, with only one update in the past year. That said, at the current cost of admission of less than a dollar, the game is still well worth the buy.

A great concept, brilliant really. Possibly an over-ambitious concept, to be honest. The single person dev had some bad life stuff happen, I think, and despite some promises that the rest of this game would be finished eventually, it's unfinished and extremely buggy past the first chapter. This game is at least half-dead. Nevertheless! I think it's worth checking out anyway, just to see what they were trying to do. It's pretty cheap.
