This is a real game. Not a roguelite. Not an extraction shooter. Not some genre smoothie meant to trick you into thinking it’s deep. Just a straight up mining sim made by someone who gave a damn. Most of what hits Steam now is recycled trash built to keep you grinding. ΔV isn’t. You get a ship, some rocks, and the rings of Saturn. That’s it. And it’s better for it.

About This Game
The Ultimate Asteroid Mining Simulator
You are a captain of an independent asteroid excavation ship, operating in the mineral-rich rings of Saturn - the thickest debris field in our solar system. Your task is to navigate rings, excavate minerals, and sell the ore at the Enceladus station.
You can hire and manage your crew who will aid you, update your ship - or switch to a completely new one. You can acquire a bounty hunter licence, explore mysteries or smuggle weapons - but at the core, you are a rock-hopper and rock-hopping is what you’ll spend most of your time at. And since it is the core of this game, we made sure you’ll have a great time flying your ship and excavating.
You are no chosen one, the story does not revolve around you - it is driven by the characters you hire and encounter, and each playthrough will play out differently. You can choose to investigate and embrace their lives, or just ignore them. It’s all up to you.
Giving Science its Due
Tired of having more Fiction than Science? Here you will find lasers are not visible without a medium, sound does not move through the void of the empty space and every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Thrusters eject gas that heats up and pushes away objects, your reactor is cooled by propellant flowing through it and radiators glow when you pump heat into them.
There are no energy shields, teleporters and Heisenberg compensators. No lightspeed, no blasters, and no artificial gravity. Instead, we have fission reactors, thermal rockets, ion thrusters and centrifugal gravity. You'll have hard decisions to make, with no "best" equipment to answer every need.
All technologies are real and there is no technobabble. But it’s still a game and one that is fun to play.
Weekly Updates
ΔV is in active development, with new stable updates coming out each week, and experimental ones getting pushed out daily. Many ideas you’ll find in the game come from players and it is not uncommon to suggest something on our discord - and see it in the game next week. Our player community consists of enthusiasts geeks, engineering and science-fiction nerds, and if that sounds like your kind of crowd - come to our discord, chat with us, and see how the game unfolds in real-time.
The event-driven nature of our storytelling means that we can expand our stories and enrich your experience seamlessly - while you are still playing. There is no need to start a new save, new events, equipment and features will just appear as you go.
Sounds like your kind of game? Check the demo. It’s free, and your saves will carry over.

Change in Velocity: Rings of Saturn is an excellent game for anybody that likes to collect shiny rocks *AND* appreciates the physics involved in rocket science. Your ship is an object that has momentum, weight distribution, and inertia. Your options for ship hardware (Thrusters, Electrical systems, Reactor Core, Fuel Tank Size) are not wide, but every factor matters, and will have a deep impact on how your ship flies and behaves. Your options for tools however are very wide, with multiple variations of weapons, unique weapons, and unique utilities. All technology is based on Science-As-We-Know-It, The ships function on Nuclear Fission to heat water, both to run an internal steam power plant and to eject steam through the thrusters to ∆ (Change) your Velocity and Rotation. The ship is truly a sum of its parts. Each individual component has three types of damage it can suffer that change the equipment's performance in unique ways. Electrical systems short-circuited by energy attac...
Best space sim I've ever spent money on. The environmental and player choice story telling at it's finest. If your a fan of The Expanse series or show, you'll love this game bosmang.
criminally underrated slow paced, somewhat hard to learn, but very fun, for ten dollars it's definitely worth buying.
I can't recommend this game. Awful design decisions are the reason. delta-V RoS is a neat idea, but the implementation is tedious, then slap-in-your-face frustrating. Not an enjoyable gaming experience. As with other poorly designed games, the developer feels the need to smash the player with OP Enemies early on - but not until you've wasted several hours trying to upgrade your ship. Not just OP Enemies, they're so OP that the player has no chance to even retreat. Boom, you're gone. That's not "challenging", it's a big F-You to the player. But it doesn't end there. The selling point of the game is "realistic asteroid mining". It is, if you ignore a glaring absurdity and the obvious scams. The tedious part is the boring slow roll to travel to where you can actually do some mining...and the same boring slow roll back to the station when you're done mining for the first few trips. This would be tolerable and an acceptable part of this gaming experience, but it's not because of wha...
Day 1 as a space miner: Take my crew and our rust bucket on a dive to make some money, get jumped by pirates, they want $10,000, I don't have it, try to book it while smashing into rocks and getting big holes punched in my hull. limp back to station and spend all my insurance money replacing the reactor. Day 2 as a space miner: find an abandoned ship floating in the ring! with a little work from my mechanic they boot up the dead ship's reactor and we drag her back to the station, Sell off the ship for parts $$$ Day 3 as a space miner: spend some of my salvage money making upgrades to the rust bucket, a mineral processing unit and something called the Nuclear annihilation laser or something, I didn't read the whole description but it mentioned uranium salt tanks, sounds good no pirates are going to mess with us anymore. go out for a dive because I can't afford to pay the crew right now and they want raises, Immediately get jumped by pirates, they want $5000. lock on and fire the t...
It's a decent game.
there are a lot of negative reviews stating how complicated this game is... and it is very complicated, but it demands giving it a chance. there are YouTube tutorials and you have time to figure things out. this game has had a lot of love put into it. things will go wrong during dives, it's just part of the game. it takes rising up past those issues. this is one of the few indie games that really just hits home on a lot for me. space exploration in the literal rings of Saturn, all about either mining away at the field or even getting into combat (you could do both too). the actual glow/general look of everything is unique and delicious. even the music changes based on what you're up to, and it's good music, especially for this environment. while everything in this game is complicated and extremely in-depth, it's worth figuring out. if you do get bored of the base game, there's even a modding scene. i wish this was talked more widely about, it's rather a hidden gem. it'd be cool if th...
