Title has a lot of promise and provides some good action gameplay, but the early game quickly becomes tedious due to lack of variation. At this point, I'd say hold off until more content is added. It's priced about the same as Enter the Gungeon, but doesn't stack up against that admittedly high bar in terms of content and polish at this point.

It's like someone took Ubermosh and made it into a roguelite, which is something that I always wanted to see. When an indie game allows you to rebind controller and keyboard, additional to having screen shake and fullscreen settings, it's usually a pretty good sign of overall quality (that tells me that developer cares). As a roguelite game, it's not doing anything that I would consider to be new or innovative, but at least it gets all of the basics right. I always complain when roguelites do not have "risk & reward" elements, but this game has a lot of opportunities to gamble. For example, you can trade your health and ammo for randomly generated items, or you can equip an item with a negative effect so you can trade it for something useful. Right now there are 3 planets with 6 stages, so there are 3 different environments and 3 bosses. You could beat it around 30 minutes, but I think it could take a few hours of practice to do so. Despite playing it for over 9 hours, I sti...

Welcome to the Space Faction, We hang out in Space. We want you to find a planet for us, so we can stop hanging out in Space. Planetary Dustoff is a 'roguelite' top down shooter similar to games such as Enter The Gungeon, Risk Of Rain, and Nuclear Throne. You go through a series of procedurally generated levels killing enemies, destroying objectives, and picking up items and weapons to aid you in your journey. Once you die you start over from the beginning, losing your weapons and items in the process. Currently in the early access version there are 6 levels + 3 boss levels, which you can theoretically get through fairly quickly, but the game is very hard, and would probably take a lot of hours to get good enough to beat it. The game also has a ton of different items and weapons right now, as well as different unlockable classes, which are different character loadouts you can start with. Another thing this game has in an "anti-item" system, which are items that you can pick up that ...

A lot of potential here, not much content at the moment though.

Planetary Dustoff is a rogue-lite where you complete objectives on procedurally generated maps and fight bosses to reach new worlds. The game features both passive and activated items which can have positive or negative effects. It also features a wide variety of weapons(My personal favorite so far is the Lightning orb gun which resembles the "Frozen orb" skill from diablo 2). The movement and controls are spot on, which is necessary since the game is quite challenging. The music is great and the items and weapons are varied enough to keep each run fresh. All in all I would recommend this game to fans of the genre. It delivers what you would expect from a game like this and my impression is that it is very "finished" for early access.

If I have to pick positive or negative, it's just barely on the positive side. For the most part, the game is well and cleverly implemented. Sufficient variety of weapons and items gives a different-enough feel from run to run; the different 'planet' regions have enemies whose attack-patterns are understandable, but novel and different enough to require different tactics; the rewards or punishments for avoiding or taking damage feel mostly appropriate; the 'anti-item' mechanic (which could stand to be explained upfront) provides the right level of temptation and payoff such that losing a game by being 'too greedy' feels deserved. Small nitpicks can be made about hitbox clarity and the fact that item-loadout per run is a little *too* random; giving the player a little more strategic choice would feel better, because often one feels one just had no agency over whether one received a viable loadout or not. The issue that almost makes this game a non-recommend from me is that, as the gam...

Great game. A bit like Nuclear Throne and Risk of Rain.

Sick game, surprised there aren't more people playing it. Modding support from the ground up is always a massive plus but even with the content that the game has so far, it's just fun. Simple but fun. A lot of the resource management decisions and risk/reward weighing choices that make roguelites a fun genre appear in it. Already worth the money, but I can't wait to see what else is added.

This game is a twisted combination of Enter The Gungeon, Risk of Rain and Nuclear Throne - and I mean that in the best possible way. The way it's shipping in Early Access is practically finished already, yet they're promising more future updates as WELL as packaging it with mod support. If you love Roguelikes, you will love this game.

For every good item you find, you find 3 bad ones. You can trade them in after you beat a boss but items feel underwhelming. Having 4 different types of ammo seems unnecessary, just annoying when you run out of whatever is your primary gun. Not that guns really matter much beyond whether you prefer green, white, purple, or orange bullets to kill enemies with. all do the same damage with slightly varying fire rates. You can tell it was heavily inspired by risk of rain but to be honest it should have borrowed a little bit more. On the plus side, the controls feel nice, the soundtrack was really, really good. Not that I expect the dev's to change anything for my sake but this game is just a few minor changes from being pretty good. Cannot recommend right now but i'll pay attention to updates.
