Decent little mech tactical game, a definite cross between Into the Breach and Ancient Frontier. The music is enjoyable, the artwork pleasant and simple, and most importantly the combat is fairly easy to get into. It certainly isn't perfect, I'm not sure how the save system works for one. More importantly, none of the attacks/abilities show ranges when you're in combat. It will show you when you're in range to attack fortunately, but I can't hover over a mech or its skills and see what ranges they have. With the amount of junk I've seen on steam, it's nice to see a simple, fun game that the developer clearly cared about. Color me impressed, and hopefully the few negative quirks will be ironed out.

For less than 10 bucks at the time of purchase, this game gets at the heart of addictive upgradability very cleanly and quickly. It is (obviously) not a high-budget effort but the music is pleasant, new mechs/tech are fun to see and use, and I have no problem setting this one along-side Into the Breach and Battletech as a worthwhile giant robot tactics game that borrows a little bit from a lot of good places while managing to achieve its own unique feel. If I had to place it in a one-liner I'd say it's maybe a boiled down combo of Front Mission 3 and FTL's random maps. It doesn't have the depth of either but it has enough of its own thing on top of that to be a worthwhile experience. I look forward to watching both this game and its creators evolve over time. I have criticism but what I wrote up to this point should be what informs whether it's for you or not. I genuinely like this game as-is, right out of the gate. So, stuff I would improve: * Editing - It needs a writer. * (I mi...
I tried this game and found it entertaining, and the dev obviously put a lot of heart into it but I cannot currently recommend it. There are many bugs that need to be ironed out for solid gameplay: * Sometimes when making purchases your credits are set to the amount that the purchase cost rather than having that amount deducted from your credit pool. It's rather annoying to go from 500 credits to 30 credits after making a 30 credit purchase * The game has locked up on me after missions, requiring a save and restart to fix * The damage you do to enemy mechs will frequently not be accounted for, and your hit that is critical for success will mean nothing * Frequent persistent graphical bugs require saving and reloading Until these are fixed, I would not recommend this game.
This is a fun little tactical game. You drop in missions with between 3 and 5 mechs, although you can own many more. You have the ability to fight through a set number of scripted missions that makes up the main story, and there are also optional random missions to take. Your mechs need power for all of the gear. Gear includes weapons or utlitity items, and can be purchased, found or crafted. Your main ship also has 4 different crew members that can give you bonuses and be upgraded with experience. As time passes you use resources, so you are always on the clock so to speak, trying to make credits and parts as fast as possible. The soundtrack is quite soothing and well done. The graphics are very basic, but you are able to customize them and they give the game a unique feel. It does take a bit of playing to really get a feel for how combat is supposed to work and what you are supposed to do, but if you put in the time you see that there are a lot of options. Overall, despit...
I want recommend this game as a fun little version of what it is. Effectively BattleTech Lite. But I can't as in it's current form it is too bug-ridden. There are the normal expected game play bugs that crop up from time to time, which I could live with. But in 4 hours of playing the game crashed with a Unity engine exception 4 times and corrupted my save files twice. The last time losing about 2 hours worth of progress. There are some fundamental fixes needed before I could recommend this game.
Its a very neat game, with great polish and fantastic gameplay. Sadly, it is too short, there is too little to do and it has little to no replayability. Ive had one playthrough where i deliberately took my time to do every quick job, unlock every mech i can, full upgrade them ect. My session only lasted four hours. My suggestions for my review to change: Lenghten the amount of sectors before the game ends. Putting up the prices to research upgrades and mechs, and perhaps adding more variety of higher tier mechs. In order to add more progression. Rebalancing: You can very easily complete the game with the first tier of mechs you begin with. Just go with four Assault mechs that can heal their shield, with highest tier pulse lasers and a +1 damage upgade. You can shoot down anything in one turn using your rapid fire ability. The Paladin MKII is by far the most OP mech. You can stick a T3 gauss rifle on it, with T2 damage and T2 Armor piercing. Effectively doing 3dmg to shields, and...
Gave this game a go. It's a simple/straight forward sci-fi tectical combat game with mechs. It's by no means perfect (in game tutorial is adequate but not exceptional/AI is a little weird), but it's fun enough and worth the money. Has nice, synthy sci-fi music soundtrack. SFX get the job done and are not annoying. I'll continue to play it, and I recommend it for fans of this genre of game play.
I like games similar to BattleTech. This seemed ideal. And, when it's working it is good fun. Straightforward game play you can get right into with a minimum of fuss. Mediocre graphics, simple and intuitive controls and all round enjoyable. But, dear God does it crash. I mean, literally after every 10 to 15 minutes you need to restart. It get's very frustrating, especially mid-combat. I want to like it. I want to recommend it. But honestly, I can't.
Mechcorp will be a classic! Remember that this lovely game is a one preson/Dev show and as such is just now getting started. The ideas are great and the gameplay is good so far. I am looking forward to what comes next and seeing the game fill out.
Mechcorp is the new 5 vs system wargame from KST, it does some things well and some that I feel need improvemnent, so here we go PROS Presentation: Its layouts, easy controls, colors, graphics all give a nice clean presentation. There is no gore, no heavy adult themes or pressure that I can see. Good clean fun for all age groups. Graphics: Mechs are well designed, nice animated portraits of crews and clear turn base mechanics. All professionally done. Gameplay: Similar to Into the Breach, Codex of Victory, and Final Theory, Mechcorp creates a sense of urgency than grand strategy or micro managing game play. Price: Gives a ton of game for such an inexpensive game. This is not a fifty dollar release. Plenty to do for the masses. Template: Base is there to build off of whenever they choose. I can see additional DLCs and storylines added. CONS Capped: Again another game that does not offer anything new to the genre. The 5 vs chess system has been done to death and new developers have l...
