YES, THIS IS REALLY A RETRO PLATFORMER! So retro that it makes me remember my childhood when I played my console.... Т_Т I think it should be noted that the controllingis difficult to get used to, because of this I often died (it's good that the checkpoints are nearby). this game will help you get nostalgic for a couple of nights.
I got finished the first world of Forestale and I like the game very much. :) The positive parts of the GzDoom based game is the nice graphics parts, the simple controll (with additional skills) and the unique boss battles. I played some similar platform games in my childhood and this game reminds me Bugs Bunny, Sonic the Hedgehog and other video game characters from other games. If someone wants to play a video game without ridiculous hard difficulty and annoying controlls, I definitely can recommend the Forestale game anytime for any gender person.
Great, fun music. An excellent homage to classic PS1 era platformers. However I found it just too punishing. Two hearts of health is just not enough. Make it 3-5 hearts and a casual player stands more of a chance of success.
Very good example of what you can achieve with the GZDoom engine. Good platformer game. 9/10
While somewhat clunky to play and not having too many original ideas, from a technological point of view this is really impressive.
The Forestale is a fun platformer with bright juicy graphics and skillfully crafted levels. Starting to play it, I got very carried away for several days. The game deserves attention, although it is not a masterpiece, since there are flaws in it too. I will list the main advantages and disadvantages. ADVANTAGES: 1. The levels in the game are non-linear, and, in addition to enemies, there are many traps and obstacles. The author has definitely managed to create an interesting gameplay. 2. The main thing: you want to explore all the levels, and each of them contains secret places with prizes. Finding some of the bonuses was very happy, because they pump up the hero well. 3. An interesting system of pumping up the skills of the hero. Some skills can be improved by shopping in the rabbit store. Here you will have to think and count. And other skills are given only when taking bonuses in secret places. Moral: seek secrets! 4. Graphics: the main part of the game world is drawn beautiful...
Not an easy one. But feels like a true old-school platformer puzzle for me. Visual is on a good level. Controls are bit overcomplicated but you get used to it soon.
Unfortunately I'm having issues getting this game to run right. I initially attempted to contact the developer to no avail, and by the time I tried to refund through Steam I had owned the game too long (admittedly that's partially my fault). I'm having visual glitching on my AMD gpu that makes the game unplayable and dizzying, and because I can't promise it will run on your machine, I can't make the recommendation.
My first impressions of this game are such: it's pretty good, the level design is very accurate. Sometimes it's quite difficult but you master the controls literally after 5 minutes of playing. There are many secrets in The Forestale which is the thing that I liked the most about this game. I will keep my eye on it.
