At this point in time, I only have a little over an hour and half in the game so it's still early but I have enjoyed it so far with the exception of the console checkpoint only save system which I loathe expecially in something marketed as old school on a PC. Ignoring that though so far the games has been fun. Pros: Combat is good. The enemies attack at a very realistist human run which is nice and scary. Takes them no time at all to close on you. Tense and spooky atmosphere Interesting maps far. Weapons seem to do the job . Head shots properly kill as they should. Cons: No crouch which would be nice for hiding Can't climb which would be nice for avoiding enemies. Checkpoint only save system with saves too far apart in places that leads to frustration in places where you take out a bunch of enemies only to die and have to do it all over again and again. I don't like other people telling me when I can and can't save in a SP game like the casual crowd does.. Have yet...

Key Features
- Intense, old school first-person horror shooter with 2000s style graphics and 1990s style retro-gameplay.
- Relive the original stealth-based Solarix story as an action-packed FPS. Decimate the infected crew members as you tear through the interstellar research station as an unstoppable soldier trained to kill anything and everything.
- Utilise an extensive arsenal of epic weapons, such as Sniper Rifle and Rocket Launcher, all brand new to the Solarix universe.
- Storm through 11 stunningly crafted levels such as Surface of Planet Ancyra, Mines and Remora Space Station.
- A pulse pounding action soundtrack to keep you pumped as you lay waste to your infected foes
- A suspenseful sci-fi horror narrative that acts as a backdrop to your ruthless killing mission.
- Tense, haunting atmosphere and unnerving sound design for an immersive horror experience.

worst pc game ever made. 1/10
I really like this game so far. When he says it's a "badass old-school FPS horror game" he really means it. It reminds me of watching my older brother play games like Doom when I was a kid. And of course when I would sneak into the computer room to play it in the middle of the night. The narrative, so far, is really interesting. I didn't play Solarix, but this game is making me put it on my to do list. The story is very rich with lots of atmosphere in every area I've been to. And it's sooo creepy with just the right amount of jump scares. Too many and they get predictable, you know? I also have to say that I love the soundtrack. It fits really well with the game. I will definitely play this game through to completion. -fishhisland
I have not played through the original game "Solarix", but got this on sale , it did look interesting and I heard it was a horror story driven combination of Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and Thief, all great titles. I can see the attempts made by the developers to make this more of a action based FPS...the game is certainly playable but only OK and as such it lacks alot of polish with the gunplay. It can also be buggy when reloading a save which is checkpoint based. The hit detection is very unreliable, the weapons laughably inaccurate and some gunfire, when actually accurate, will go straight through the enemies you face, and it also seems to have a very short range for ballistic weapons. Possibly this was intentional by the developers to make you engage the enemies at medium to close range only, to ratchet up the tension that way. The Sniper Rifle is long range but it is not given every mission. The assault rifle can launch small grenades, but the grenade accuracy is terrible and random a...
I enjoyed the story and the gameplay. The difficulty is optimal. It's not too easy and not too hard. It's not too short. Most games around this price point last only a few hours. This one lasted almost nine hours. This is a version of the "Solarix" game that is based on attacking instead of avoiding. I hate games that force me to sneak around enemies, so I chose this version.
I am recommending this game, but there are a few asterisks on that. I like this game because of the atmosphere. I love it. It's so oppressive and dark. The premise of the story is another thing I like. Now onto the bad. Anything regarding the gunplay is crap. Guns are inaccurate, enemies come in only two varieties: run at you full speed and slowly walk towards you while shooting their inaccurate guns. The two weapons you will use the most, the assault rifle and the shotgun, are the two worst in the game because of their inaccuracy. This means that you have to get close to enemies to damage them, yet that also meant that they can hit you. And the gun enemies can shred you if you led them. The only saving grace is that Med-pack are EVERYWHERE. By the time I finished the game, my entire inventory screen have pretty much nothing but Med-packs, without hyperbole. The Gun sounds are also pretty unsatisfying and the movement often feels pretty slow. Pretty discounting for an FPS. Another...
intriguing, but has issues and is too difficult.
Did not finish game. This game is not very fun. I really wanted to get into it. I like these kind of graphics and that is about the best thing in this game. The story really didnt catch me and the gameplay is boring and the guns really dont shoot the enemies half the time, the sniper scope is literally a joke, i actually laughed at it.
