Lucie seems to be inspired by The Witch's House which is not a bad thing. It is a puzzle-oriented horror game created in RPG-maker. The gameplay mostly consists of text choices and occasional riddles. Most of the things that you do in the game will kill you in a gory way. But you know, it is still fun to do it on purpose even if you know the answers ;). As far as I can tell the game uses a mixture of generic assets and some original artwork. I am not that into the whole RPG-maker ecosystem so I can't really tell what came with the engine. Although I played enough of these games to recognize when the effort was put into the project. And this game was made with love, that is for sure. I definitely heard some of those songs so I guess I can't give any compliments on the soundtrack. I won't talk too much about the story as it is kind of a spoiler. You are a girl in a house with a bunch of creepy dolls, that is all you need to know. It was different enough from TWH and yet it foll...

About This Game
Lucie is an exploration-based horror game that plays on some innate fears and uses known creepypasta stories to enhance it's feel, and is also inspired on famous horror movies and rpgs.
Created by vm.cabello, a Brazilian developer, the game revolves around solving puzzles or being punished with death, the atmosphere is very bleak and develops a tense feeling every time that the player starts a new puzzle.

I personally liked this game, not very much jumpscares are running away moments. Most of the time I choose the option that meant death just because I wanted to know how I'll die. Haven't got scared at all so far, but have had plenty of times where my brain went WTF and got a bit freaked out since I thought I have to run like in some of the other horror rpgs. (Mad father, Misao, Witch's House, etc) To confess, I personally do not like jumpscares and running away games, I play horror rpgs for the puzzle solving and twisted stories. So if the reason you play horror rpgs is for the rush, this might not be meant for you. The music is eerie but very soft and it sounds mainly like piano. The clues are fairly simple, nothing takes me more than a minute or two to figure out with some exploring. The story slowly unfolds and you should often read the notes, or well anything that can help you. The stories in the books at the library/etc I found very interesting and it actually had a conne...
Short yet good game. It has beautiful graphics, fun puzzles, decent amount of terror and well-made texts that set the mood for the game really well. If you're just a casual gamer looking for something fun to play, "Lucie" is a masterpiece.
By the way, I'm pretty sure that if I was a kid I'd become terrified of angels after playing this. The book about the babysitter really did set a mood for that part. Loved it.
There were a few audio bugs in this game, for instance when you go to the gasoline room the sound cuts on a few seconds later. I didn't like the beginning deaths especially the one where you KNEW you'd die because it asked "Are you sure you want to open this?"(I liked the deaths after you leave that corridor because they don't feel cheap.) This one's kind of a spoiler, so.
Now, When you get the "Alternative good ending" I don't understand how the 'True Lucie' is in the "Alternative bad ending", because the doppelgänger says, "I knew I shouldn't have let you out of your cage." How was the real Lucie there in the bad end if she was in the cage? ? Now if the ending's were explained, or more endings were revealed I'd give it a second chance.
The movement and character control is a bit wonky and the game is VERY SHORT but rest is great. Kept getting stuck with that freaking armor knight. Regardless of its graphics and controls the game scared me. I had chills running down my spine ever 2 minutes. The atmosphere is very creepy, the music just perfect for a creepy game, and the whole thing is giving me chills all over, taking me back to when I was 15 and dumb and playing Dead Space at 2am like an idiot. And the books with scary stories.. omg. Great job Devs! I love it. I'll prob finish the game when it's nice and sunny outside, middle of the day and plenty of light in the room, and prob some happy cartoons on second monitor like My little Pony or something. I think what scares me the most is the fact that the game embodies all of the elements to what I got scared the most in tv series and movies and other games ( like the Weeping Angels statues from Doctor Who), add some nightmares and sleep paralysis and it's the perfect...
First and foremost, for those who enjoy horror themed puzzle games, I suggest this game. This game is truly amazing, especially the music. I am probably about halfway completed with the game, but I felt like writing an early review, because I just LOVE the game that much. I'm also a pianist so I appreciate the music and I LOVE 2D graphics including horror. My only criticism is the programming. In certain maps, I can literally walk out of the walls and go into the black part of the screen. Other than that, the game is perfect imo. Only $1.99 so give it a try!
If you enjoy the RPG Makers games of the late 2000s and early 2010s, then this might be the right game for you. It only took me about an hour and a half to get the bad ending but the game wasn't overall a bad experience. I was a bit disapointed with the ending I got and I don't think I'm going to quite play through the game again tonight to get the good ending, but I can't say that it was overall a terrible game. The game itself is about a girl who dream walks, or can view herself and the world around her while sleeping. Though the overall story could have thrown more references toward that and not focused so heavily on aspects that didn't really have much to do with that part of the plot. There are a few really annoying chase portions of the game but they can often be cheated by honestly just moving quickly. The main character's obsession with dolls could have also been explored a bit more thoroughly, the game's protagonist, Lucie, just seems to be the stereotypical little girl who ...
Loved it.
