Tumbling and bouncing through the fluffy darkness, a tiny dot lights up with curiosity as it explores the universe.

i played it for an hour. it's a beautiful title. i really appreciate the amount of care and effort that went into the overall vibe, but after that hour the gameplay really didn't stick for me. i think i just wasn't in a platformer mood at the time even though i refunded i think it deserves a thumbs up tho, or at least an hour to determine if it's for you or not.

the fact that the game is only 33 MB is wild this game offers very creative puzzles, and neat tricks that you will find out as you play. however, the game is pretty short. you could go for 100%...but you would need to backtrack A LOT in order to do everything. is it worth it? depends on your determination, to look at every nook and cranny to 100% and see what is there to see.

Don't look at any videos, or look for opinions on Reddit, because you WILL get spoiled on this modern masterpiece. I absolutely adored my time with it, and still feel like there's a million undiscovered secrets, despite collecting all the eggs. At first it really reminded me of starting Dark Souls of all games, because of the non-linear progression, dank dungeon environments, ambient score and superb sound design. There's genuine terror and beauty around every corner! It's a tense first few minutes followed by hours and hours of puzzle platforming bliss. Watch the official doc once you've collected all the eggs to fall in love with it even harder.

As a fan of metroidvanias, I wish I got this game when it came out. I foolishly waited a year to actually get the game, but now that I am finally checking it out, it is one of the most amazingly atmospheric and fun to explore games I've ever played. Hollow Knight and Rainworld are easy comparisons to make for it, but it stands out so much on its own as well. The items you use are really creative and unique and fun, the puzzles are just challenging enough to not be too frustrating or too easy for you to enjoy the game, the controls are satisfying, the visuals are pixel art perfection, the deaths are less punishing than I expected but can still make things a bit tedious, the collectibles are really neat as a collectathon fan. I could go on about the little things that make this experience feel so natural and wonderful for me to get into, and I've only just begun the game. This is a must play, especially when it's on sale, but full price for this game is totally worth it as well. I'll be ...

Fans of this game will say stuff like "reaching the ending means you're not even half-way done bucko, get ready for the real meat", then spend 9 hours teaching a hidden right-side map fish how to play Darude Sandstorm with its bubbles so it throws up some wingdings needed to crack the code to a secret porta potty. Animal Well is a pretty neat but rather mid-game for what it's worth. It has a unique and whimsical vibe to it, with the gameplay consisting of mostly outside-the-box environmental puzzles, platforming and exploration. Puzzles are a focus, but it's mostly done in a way where it never really feels like a classic "puzzle game" which I was originally worried about. There are enough rather dull ones, but finding the solutions to those that aren't is quite enjoyable. But after the 7ish hours it takes to reach the "layer 1 ending", it turns into mostly drawn-out secret hunting. Consisting of retracing the entire map a dozen times and tediously searching for bits and pieces needed ...

Such a unique experience that I loved every minute of. I got stuck only a couple of times but they were only smooth-brain moments. The only recommendation I have is to not look anything up and try to do the first play through with no guides.

Cant recall a single unfair/unfun puzzle in this game. (except maybe the bonus content...)
