TheWraithTrials is a very simple Game Guru project that is better suited as a test demo than a full game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QagmejEkgwM It's far from the worst Game Guru project I've played, but considering I've played other games that quite literally steal entire demo projects and upload them to Steam, that doesn't say very much. That being said, TheWraithTrials (all one word for some reason) is barely functional and insipidly boring. You spawn in a cemetary and find weapons on the ground to combat skeletons or reptile people. The combat is so broken you can simply walk backwards while they run towards you and hit the enemies until they die. This, in addition to being poor developer design, is a big problem with the Game Guru engine. The A.I seems incapable of handling any complex movements. You get a bow that does an insane amount of damage compared to the melee weapons. It one-shots pretty much everything, including boss monsters (which are just the same skeleton ...

Warning: GameGuru Asset Flip!
TheWraithTrails is a what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" bought the GameGuru first person shooter construction kit (no coding required, it's just a GUI!) and cobbled out a map or two using stock GameGuru assets... nothing in this game can fully be called the creation of the developer, and yet they also failed to credit GameGuru or acknowlegde any of the GameGuru assets. They're trying (badly) to pass someone else's work as their own. It's just a bunch of random GameGuru assets dropped around a really lazy, stock textured GameGuru map template with a few of the GameGuru asset store horror assets dumped lazily on top. All you do in the game is run around and shoot the asset flipped enemies. Let's be clear, GameGuru is a completely godawful construction kit. If you try to take it seriously as a game, you'll find no resolution or graphics tweaks, no controller tweaks... ...

I hate giving games bad reviews and am usually pretty tolerant of their shortcomings. I bought this one on sale for a dollar thinking I would at least get some enjoyment out of it. I would encourage other people with a similar mindset to avoid this one. The biggest problems are the technical issues. The Wraith Trials is poorly optimized and doesn't let you manually change settings. When the game senses it is running slow, a dialogue box pops up asking if you want the game to reoptimize. You can click yes, and the game will run better for a while, but iff it starts to slow down again the gox won't reappear. More damning than that, the game keeps crashing after you play it for aobut ten minutes. The game has no way to save, no autosave function. If you don't finish it in one setting, you have to restart from the beginning. The crashes make it impossible to finish. It would frankly be annoying enough without the crashes, as there are pits of spikes that will instantly kill you. The comb...

I bought this game because I got a coupon and it was really cheap. And yet I regret buying it. It feels more like a crude demo than a game. I don't recommend it.
