About This Game
The House in Fata Morgana: A Requiem for Innocence
A young girl, whose blood is claimed to have miraculous healing powers, kneels battered and beaten before the lord of the land. In the village where she was born, she was worshiped as the daughter of God. And now, the lord holds his sword high in the air, moments away from beheading her.
"You're a damned witch wearing a saint's skin!"
But before he can swing his blade down, a young man interferes, saving the girl.
So begins the first "happy" chapter of the young girl's life.
And so begins the first act of a tragedy that would come to span nearly a millennium.

The greatest piece of fiction I've ever experienced to be honest. This story will stick with me until the day I snuff it. I remember when I completed it, I went to bed thinking about only it, I slept dreaming of it, then woke up the next day immediately thinking about it some more. This stuff is life changing, honest. Also Serie de Fragmento is the best song ever.
Greatest game of all time. My goat Jacopo is the greatest character of all time no one can convince me otherwise.
The House in Fata Morgana: A Requiem for Innocence, available on Steam as a standalone expansion and prequel to the critically acclaimed visual novel The House in Fata Morgana, is a haunting, emotionally devastating journey that enriches and deepens the already powerful main narrative. Created by Novectacle, this entry acts as both a companion piece and an essential expansion, revealing the tragic backstories of key characters and framing the events of the original in a much more complex moral and emotional light. While it can technically be played on its own, the full weight of its narrative impact is best appreciated by those who have already experienced the original game. At its core, A Requiem for Innocence is a character-driven tragedy. It tells the story of Michel and Morgana long before the events of the main game, focusing especially on Morgana’s youth, the societal forces that shaped her, and the irreversible choices that led to her transformation. Where The House in Fata M...
You know, I don't think it's written poorly by any means, but I find Maria really annoying as a character and the whole story in general lacks context. It feels more like a companion piece, not a prequel that stands on its own. Gonna pass.
The best thing I have ever read. <3
the goat
Amazing prequel to the main game and accentuates the already fantastic pre-existing story. The way it expanded more on Jacopo and Morgana's past, including delving further into their thoughts among other things was excellent and gives the reader extra info when it comes to understanding them and their predicaments (not saying the base game didn't do that, Requiem just added onto it). If you enjoyed the base game, check this one out and could even enhance the experience you had with it like it did to me. Just don't read this one before the base game.
absolutely 100% recommend reading fata morgana before requiem for innocence. i liked fata morgana but i think the quality of the writing is ever so slightly better here. good stuff. love to feel sad about these characters
