Othercide has a great aesthetic and overall mood. It's a roguelike turn based strategy game wherein you progress by dying and sacrificing your characters, so you've got to be comfortable with losing a bunch to move forward. There's a bit of variety in mission types, but not a great variety in classes, so while you churn through plenty of characters, they aren't typically as unique as the game might want them to appear. Gradual unlocking of upgrades and story bits is fun, as long as you're in for the grind.

The art style of this game is visually striking, and there are a few gameplay elements show promise. However, the action point (AP) system significantly detracts from the experience, creating frustration rather than enjoyment. The AP system feels unbalanced and overly punitive. You will be punished for overspending AP, while enemies can perform unlimited actions without similar restrictions. Moreover, the AP cost for basic actions, such as moving a character across the field, is excessively high. Moving often prevents attacking in the same turn, and attacking precludes movement unless you exhaust all your AP—which, ironically, also incurs a penalty. This restrictive design makes strategic planning feel like a pain in the arse. Additionally, the game’s power creep is overwhelming. Each new era introduces immensely more powerful enemies that exacerbate the flaws in the already clunky combat system. After roughly 15 hours of play, what could have been an engaging turn-based strategy...

It's alright, but i wouldn't really call it content rich. I had a miserable time playing with my mouse and keyboard, but switching to a switch controller made the game WAY more intuitive. Feels like a shame there are only like. 5 classes for the daughters

Othercide is a turn-based strategy game. I really love the aesthetic of the game, it is very pretty. At first I was lost and sad that my daughters died, but I realised that if you sacrifice them to the new one with better stats (you can equip remembrances every time you start the game) it makes my daughters stronger and better equipped. I am happy that you can edit how they look now and rename them! So, I try to make my daughters look like the first ones I had, I have some attachment issues LOL over-all, I LOVE THE GAME! I just hope they would still update this in the future ଘ꒰⑅ ´ ˘ ` ⑅ ꒱♡

Too complicated

Pretty good game, despite difficulty being a mixed bag. Initially the game will be pretty hard since all damage is permanent unless you sacrifice a unit to heal. Boss fights will also be hard initially but once you figure the combos that allow for daughters to combo attacks they become push overs. The game expects you to take many hits and suffer many losses so the prestiege system is designed to let you skip boss fights you've already beaten and spawn higher level units. Daughters are disposable but will die all the time but they can be revived each playthrough so the ones you get attached to are never truly gone. The game does get a bit grindy due to healing system but if you enjoy turned based games it shouldn't be too boring if you're taking breaks. The worst part are the bugs that remain unfixed and vague ability description on bosses. The most notable bug is specific armor being counted twice which turns a lot of enemies into absolute health sponges at the start whe...
