Game crashed and deleted 35 hours of gameplay and is now asking me to start a new game. Update : I started a new game, played for a few hours, then closed the game. When I came back, the new game save was gone and my old save was back. Happy to have the old save back, but I had committed to a new character with new choices and am still disappointed that the new save file is now no longer there.

I always thought this game looked interesting, it went on a steep sale so I picked it up I'm not exactly a pro gamer at Dark Souls, I beat 3 with coop, I was moderately competent but never really got the parrying down The main flaw of this game is the brutal difficulty and there being no incentive to fight anything really, I can understand the zero to hero journey, and often I enjoy it, but you're below a zero in this game, once you finish the initial quest to pay off your debt, almost nothing on the map is accessible to you, everywhere you go with a few slight exceptions you will be out damaged and outnumbered You might think hey I've got leather armor now, and I can kill the hyenas with ease, so maybe I should try to go into some of these caves where you meet enemies with much higher damage than you, and since you have no parry mechanic or backstab to bail you out with your positioning, you can't really touch many of them In Dark Souls when you die you respawn and you don't lose ...

Started playing the game together with my cousin. Game sets off strong, main quest starts with a clear short term goal but no specific means, leaving you free to explore the first region to achieve it. At first, survival outside city walls is your numero uno priority, and npcs freely give advice, tips and guide you for a successful journey. The game doesn't pester you with tutorial pop-ups, if you want help you ask around and thats that. Want to stumble around the game and learn the hard way? Outward is ALWAYS happy to give. You don't start with a class. Heck you don't start with a clue of whats to come. I'm here to tell you. You wanna be a hunky punky knighty that never dies? Better work for that armor. A wizard then? You don't even start with a mana bar, much less how or where you get spells. No no, for that you need to fight your way through to a Leyline, and then maybe you'll have a chance to spend hundreds of currency at trainers located at the most unfavorable places (looking a...

Banger, probably in my top 10 games OAT but requires time to learn and understand. I see a lot of negative reviews comparing this game to Dark Souls or Elden Ring. Let me tell you if you think that you are going to be disappointed, this game IS NOT Dark Souls nor Elden Ring but something else. If you want an experience like those games go play something else. The combat is actually not so bad when you learn it people struggle with it because they leave Cierzo and immediately try to fight hyenas and bandits without understanding the basics, and the magic system is unique and fun to use. But again, both of these things will require time and patience so you can properly understand them. There are also survival elements in the game, but they are really simple. There's a lot of food and water, and sleeping is not a big problem. Another great critique is the walking everywhere, since there's no fast travel and the maps can be fairly big. This problem persists throughout the full game, so...

Such a tedious game. Tedious inventory management. Tedious stamina management. Tedious currency grinding. Tedious world exploration. Tedious survival mechanics. Playing this game solo just isn't fun. The game is significantly more enjoyable with a friend but it's just miserable solo.

This game is crazy in the best way. Still the hardest game I've ever played (saying that as someone who played through original Myst and Riven, and who stopped playing Elden Ring somewhere in Leyndell because I was too bored to play a second longer). It's so hard that I played 92 hours (mostly solo but also with one of my friends for at least 15 of those hours) and STILL only saw like... maybe 25% of the game. But it's so fun. And the world-building is really cool. I wanna be mad that it's so hard, but honestly I'm not. It's one of the most fun co-op experiences I've ever had with an RPG. It really forces you to explore the wide world and to be smart about when and how you battle and when and what you purchase. While I even now wish there was an "easy mode" on this game, really it just comes down to having someone to co-op it with you. If my friend and I could have co-op'ed the entire game, we definitely both would have completed it. One day when I have time I'll go back and try to fin...

Saw the pictures and shit and thought it looked like fable, the combat is dog shit though lol. Literally just go play fable and you will get better character creation and combat. The concept is cool and the visuals aren't too bad but the combat actually just makes the game pointless.

one of my favorite adventure games ever. The magic system is different and a breath of fresh air. Combat could be a little less clunky, but overall I've never really had any issues.

im not sure why this game doesn't have overwhelmingly positive reviews and instead has mostly positive reviews. it is definitely a punishing game but as long as you push past the first couple of hours its fine. you will 'die' (theres really no way to actually die in the game you just get knocked out or captured etc) but death isnt the end. souls like combat but a little bit more janky. it takes getting used to but as long as you get the combat down you can defeat anything. also need to prepare a lot before going into bosses/difficult encounters can't just run in and expect to kill everything. i've been playing it with the raid mode mod that allows for more than 2 players in a session and i think this makes the game 1000x better as well but its also amazing with just 1 friend. i can't speak much for the solo aspect as i believe this game is meant for co-op.
