I'd give Overlanders a pass, for now. Especially considering the AUD$36 Price tag. The concepts on display and ideas are really interesting and honestly unique and refreshing. The issue is the execution and content. The racing is really fun, and has a great dual-steer mode much like a market competitor, Redout. Getting back to Overlanders, the main issues that were glaring at me after not even an hour of gameplay:

Controls: The controls are unconfigurable, this is really important for any player that wants to play their own way - which is the reason it's all the more important to have rebindable keys and eliminate this kind of simple hassle that can drastically change someone's experience of the game. Also, in a racing game, there's no controller support except for actually in-races. And it doesn't even tell you the default bindings! In the tutorial, you're taught with keyboard controls - again, in a racing game.
Content: the game currently consists of a tutoria...

Since this is now on sale and I've made the mistake of purchasing (and am now refunding it), do yourself a favour and just don't. This isn't worth any money at all. The presentation is bare bones, I feel like there's one boring music track and like 4 different tracks or so. In all honesty it's probably more, but it doesn't matter, because they're all boring and/or annoying. I also can't really see a difference between the 4 different vehicles, apart from that the first one is significantly faster or at least seems to be. So, sound is boring, presentation is boring, graphics aren't great, tracks are boring and enemies are just push overs in the beginning and will probably kick your ass later on and frustrate the hell out of you. "Later" is a good joke, because the campaign only has like 15 races, most of which are simple races that are done in a matter of 2 minutes, the other variant COULD have actually been interesting, but of course it's not. You basically race after a giant monster ...

I downloaded this after I finished pod racer. This game doesn't have any of the speed or tight controls of pod-racer. Game feels very slow and has poor control. It also has some awkwardness with the menus. Looks good just doesn't have that final 15% to make it a good game. Hopefully we will get a good pod-racer sequel someday.

This combat podracing game reminds me of Oban Star-Racers. I am enjoying it. The scenery art is fantastic and the pods, even though only 4 now, clearly show their characteristics in maneuverability. I also like the minimalist and intuitive menu. I hope this game will grow

The game runs pretty smooth (I have 16GB RAM , GTX 1060, Core i7 Skylake) and its fun. But to me the AI is hard even on easy difficulty

A good futuristic racing game! However, the online community is very small, and the amount of single-player content is a bit limited, so I'd probably wait for a sale.
