About This Game

Paradox Wrench is a first person puzzle game.

You have agreed to be part of an undisclosed experiment. You will be equipped with a special weapon-like tool. This tool has the ability to switch the physical dimension of certain objects, as well as your own.

There is the normal dimension, which you are used. It collides with everything. Then there is a blue and an orange dimension. These dimensions only collide with the same color/dimension as well as the normal dimension.

You will have to discover how this strange tool works, using your wit to complete intricate tests.

Paradox Wrench is a simplistic thematic ripoff of Portal... it's a first person 3D platformer with a minimalist aesthetic and a gimmick where you phase different blocks of different colours using your colour gun... if some blocks don't match the colour of your gun, you can phase through them. This means you need to consider which colour to shoot various platforms and which colour to have active so you can jump either through or on top of various blocks and platforms. It also has surprisingly okay voice acting for the GladOS ripoff AI thing that's making you do platformer puzzles. This almost seems like a sincerely made game but then it's from one of the business partners of the asset flippers at Volens Nolens and SA Industry, famous for polluting Steam with asset flips and other garbage, so there's always that word of caution that gamers should consider (especially considering Valve banned 800 garbage asset flip games last week). But let's go into why Paradox Wrench isn't worth b...

this game is like partially baked cookies even in the time that it takes to complete the entire game (meaning it is really short) it has multiple problems some of these include no music, annoying sounds (there is a high pitched sound at the end of jumping that drove me mad so I had to disable sounds) while the voice work itself was actually decent the Riddles he used as a script were bad because when you would enter the room the narrator would ask a riddle and then it would give the answer when you completed the puzzle so often by the time I ended the level I had totally forgotten what the original question even was making the answer pointless. not to mention often when giving the answer the game would glitch and it would quickly repeat the track 2 times gameplaywise some of the puzzles were actually decent however the designer didn't do a great job easing you into the rules of your tool's capabilities basically you would get thrown into a puzzle room and you had to figure out the ne...

Had lots of fun with this, felt good to have to use my mind for once. Finishing level 13 gave me the good feels that I havent had in a long time from games. Definitly worth it for the price.

The game's general idea is really nice. It really has great potential. However, sadly, the game is ruined by technical problems. First of all, you cannot change the mouse sensitivity. Kind of annoying but still bearable. What's more annoying is that the movement, especially jumping, is a bit clunky. But again, that is something you get used to. The real dealbreaker, however, is that the game does not catch your mouse. When you look around by moving your mouse, the cursor wanders off to a secondary screen. It does not matter whether you play windowed or not. If you click then, you click outside of the game hence the game loses focus. Super annoying and frustrating.

Some puzzles are challenging enough to recommend this game, but some other puzzles can be worked around in ways that are not intended and that spoils the whole point. Too short, but fun

Alright quite good puzzles that are super hard sometimes but some things are broken but overall quite good for a portal knockoff but get portal it is much much much better.

It's quite an average game inspired by Portal and likes of it. Not very complicated, not very long. I've beaten the game in 1.5 hours and I bet it can be done way quicker bc couple of times I made pauses in gameplay without quitting the game. I'd say wait for the sale, then buy it. Again, nothing special about it. Not bad for a beginning developer, but not enough to be called a real game. The voice acting is not bad, though you won't get much of that either. 5.5/10.

A simplistic, and well thought-out light-weight contender for short first-person puzzle platformers. If you don't want a tiresome plot to clog your head with; this is fine by me! Recommended buying time is when a sale discounts the game.

There are very bad puzzle games, and then there are bad puzzle games and then there are decent puzzle games (at this price point). This one skirts the line between bad and decent. It's better then Polarity, and it's a lot less buggy then the likes of Colortone or Blik. It's cheap, but you can finish in in under one hour. It has some funny dialogue, but most of it consists of riddles and a narrator trying to hard. The sound design is bad, the puzzles are easy... all in all, wait for a sale.
