This game is absolutely terrible. The only positive reviews I've seen are from people who found a match in PVP. The single player campaign "demo" and the AI robots are excruciatingly boring to fight. You advance (by tapping the joystick forward step by step and turn by gripping and dragging) and the enemy will backpedal. Out of the arena and out of your reach. You then have to wait for them to come back and repeat this cycle while they telegraph a single attack in between. Other than exiting the game there's no way to leave this hell mid game. The campaign demo is one opponent in an office and I'd rather be doing office work then punching him. The hits and impacts don't feel good and the movement is incredibly clunky. You have to tap the joysticks to take a single step forwards or sideways. Then you have to grip with triggers and drag to turn. You can turn the drag turn off but then you're left with no alternative besides turning circles in your space which is inconvenient with wir...
i was holding off my review until a single-player come out, and glad to say, im not dissapointed! the robots gave me quite a challenge, kind of making me refelt the moment of first playing Gorn.
Due to restriction in international flights, i haven't been able to meet with my son for over a year now, this game really connected me with my son in the virtual world for we share the common interest in the ways of combat sport, and this game really allowed us to have fun together while gather a sense of connection even in reality that we are from far apart from each other in the material world. Would like to post this review here to appreciate the developer behind this fantanstic game, this game is now part of my treasured memory that i share with my son. Good luck to the game, and really wish sucess to the developers behind this wonderful project.
Game is far from dead, devs are working on the game every day and listening to community suggestions, there is a discord where most people ask for fights, heres the link https://discord.gg/SFFXHKsM In regards to the mechanics and features of the game, you get something that has been attempted by some vr boxing game but never really made in to a fun experience like VFC, in vfc the fights feel very organic where peoples skills from real life martial art come into play, you can do head movement, dance around the ring if you got play space, do counters and parries and lots of real boxing skills, how hard you hit is how hard you hit in game, no creed flappy hands, the community is very willing to help and teach so make sure you join the discord! Theres also a campaign mode and other singleplayer modes to work on your fitness, each character has an ability that you should learn as it wont hinder your fighting but rather help you, you should take time to learn a characters strengths. OK, YES the game is clunky and the UI and connections need work, but buy this game because of what it might be if enough people do. This was a workout like I've never had in VR and I've got 40 hours in BoxVR. The fighting was FUN. I was jumping and elbow dropping people's heads, punching people in the dick, blocking, ducking, dodging, and sucker punching. The fighting system is very well thought and tracking is above average, and I just read the devs are continuing to optimize things like elbow tracking. Get this because of what the game will become when enough people pour money into it. You'll still enjoy it for what it is now, but yes, the cracks are showing and it needs work. However, this game will likely go the way of Virtual Boxing League if enough people don't buy into it early enough. Do the right thing and support the future of VR. Buy this game at full price.
very much fun! this is street fighter like my favourite! playing on japan with people in america feeling very good game is very good with martial art, i very much recommend more people playing it
OK! This is a game i can see myself play daily, really hope it takes off. Combat are so fun, and i'm not saying it because it's the first Boxing PvP i've played, the game mechanism are really there to simulate the combat 'feel'. You're punished for making foolish weak punches, and is rewards if you aim for the opening and land a huge swin (and the combine feel of the hit is so excellent) I've played 2 session of this game, maybe i'm lucky, i always found some1 to play with, and had problem connecting. Latency is not that good because i played against some1 in Europe while im in Asia, but the game play didn't even feel laggy at all! I really really do hope this game take off, i read through dev's game development roadmap, this PvP only is only the foundation for more game mode to come, there will be colosseum mode, and Co-op Dungeon crawler! it gives me chills to think about playing in those game modes with this kind of game mechanics, can't wait for early access to finish for this g...
Best fighting game i have ever played, would definetly recommend this game to ANY VR player. Single-player mode gave me quite a challenge, must play.
I was on Thrill Of the Fight Discord and i discovered a discord full of VR fight game fans. They SWORE by this game and sure enough i had to give it a try... WOW, it was a shock to stumble upon ToF, and it was another shock to stumble on this pvp game. I had a blast with the mate who showed me the ropes and sparred with me for 4 rounds. It was magic, the game is much more cinematic than thrill of the fight, you can feel the love and passion here. The actual fighting make you throw fast combos, aim your strikes, and forces you to be defensive when youre taking hits. its quite brilliant actually and some of the strikes you can do are incredible for VR This is equally as good as ToF for being PvP focused! They both are great in their own ways but this is a comparable game not something to dismiss... get connected and start fighting cool people its easy ill keep playing this game until there is another pvp game that is significant. I not complaining here final score is: 8.5 I consi...
