This is a game about rolling a ball through obstacle course levels where you can grab collectables and try to beat your time. I booted up this game hopeful, thinking back to my days of childhood where I would play Hampster Ball for hours, replaying levels and messing around with the local co-op modes with a friend. Hampster Ball had a great feeling of weight, momentum, level design, and control that even as a kid, I was able to learn and perform the moves and techniques expected of the player. There was even a sense of control in the air, making the platforming so much more enjoyable. This game, Squirrel Sphere, unfortunately does not have that level of control. For the 30ish minutes I played it, I noticed one very key thing about this game: there was no weight. The ball gains speed way too fast, is too light, too uncontrollable. In the first level I was already speeding uncontrollably, unable to get a grip on the controls and going to fast that one of the collectable acorns did not...

The aesthetics and artstyle is really amazing! The controls are smooth and responsive so you'll have no issues with that. The soundtrack is spot on and fits very well. Overall a cute and fun game if you're looking something similar to Super Monkey Ball. There is room for polishing this game for sure but you'll have no issues playing this game so give it a try!

It's no super monkey ball, but the inspiration is there, the difficulty too! I honestly really enjoyed playing it, finishing it 100%. There's a really nice difficulty curve to the game, the extra modes are quite fun, and the music, sounds and graphics really goes well together. Games like that are really rare, so for the amateur of games like Monkey Ball, this is the perfect game. There's some small camera issues, but I never had too much problem with it. Maybe in a couple of levels, but it never stopped me from finishing it. Also, the last boss is way too hard compared to the rest of the game. Also way too long to beat compared to other bosses.

A fun ball game where you roll through each level, collect acorns and items, and head for the goal post. One thing to note is that you can not move while in the air. Instead, your ball starts spinning, and you gain a burst of speed in whichever direction you were spinning in when you land. I'm not a huge fan of that, but if you like going for the fastest time, that can add a ton of depth.

It's a fun well made game and definitely worth the price... ~Side Note: The multiplayer in this game is for splitscreen mode and not actual online multiplayer... i personally don't mind that and prefer splitscreen over actual online multiplayer. (Edit: It is no longer labeled online multiplayer and is now labeled appropriately.)

Squirrel sphere is Super Monkey Ball without training wheels. If you liked SMB or want a tight 3d platforming game, take a look at this one. It's imaginative and creative with levels and ramps up the challenge.
