This game has a classic JRPG feel to it. I am so far finding myself invested in the story line and what happens to *most* of the main characters. The music seems home grown but that just adds to the positive indie feel of the game. The combat system doesn't have a wait system which at first was a bit of a shock but the game seems to be balanced around it and did fine easing me into it by the time things started getting difficult and I had to use more than simple attacks to succeed. By then I had rearranged my spells enough to know exactly where to go without having to think about it. Definitely has a small studio feel to it but honestly that is what gamers need right now instead of the AAA studio garbage that has been pumped out lately. Overall an appropriately priced and enjoyable little JRPG.

About This Game
The historically aggressive, industrious humans of Veltara are forever crossing blades with the cave-dwelling Delvirinn. The reasons for the conflict have been lost in time, and the war is now simply a fact of life for both sides, further fueled by greed and revenge killings that claim life after life.
At the same time, myths and legends from the past are materializing at an increasing and alarming rate. What does it mean? And what part will they play in the times to come?
Engaging Story - A tale of political intrigue, magic, legends, and above all... Hope. Hope for a world that is slowly losing it, generation by generation.
Actions Matter - The homeless person you gave food to, the soldier you recommended for promotion...or didn't. Small things, but they will let you put your own personal stamp on the world as the story unfolds.
Active and Wait Battle Systems - Play the game whichever way you enjoy it the most.
Unique Characters - Every character has unique stats and their own special abilities, often coupled with an interesting animation.
Customize Your Party - Choose which characters you want in your party, and customize them through equipment.
Over An Hour Of Original Music - Includes several random battle and boss battle songs. No more hearing the exact same song every time you fight.

Had this one on my wishlist for months. It finally came out and I'm completely sucked in. If you're looking for that old-school RPG that you can play on a modern PC, this is it. For only $12, I highly recommend everyone trying it.
I just finished the game and wow... this is a fantastic classic RPG. Specifically the story and dialogue blew me away. If you like fantasy novels mixed in with some mystery drama, this game is for you. And also just as importantly, this game doesn't overstay it's welcome. It's FOCUSED (which can't be said for a lot of modern RPG's where 80+ hours of fluff and unnecessary side quests is common). Also, the combat is solid. At first the active battle system threw me off, but there is an option in the menu to make time pause on your character's turn, which I appreciated as it made it more tactical. If you like books like Mistborn and Game of Thrones (but in a very concise package), and if you like old-school RPG's like Chrono Trigger and the early Final Fantasy games, then this game is for you.
Struggle for Talyria is a broken glitchy mess. It’s a collection of cobbled-together assets that barely passes for a game. I’m still surprised that this was made in the Unity Engine because I feel like most games made in RPG Maker would have been better than this.
Pretty solid little indie JRPG.
This is a great old style JRPG, but what impresses me most is the story is very modern, the characters are diverse and relatable. Compared to the story of some other RPGs released with larger teams and budgets, I think it is definitely worth a buy.
