Onimusha: Warlords

Remasterı dururken psikopat gibi tank kontrollere sahip ps2 versiyonunu bitirdiğim 1560lar japonyasında geçen, samuray temalı zamanına göre mükemmel sayılabilecek bir oyun Onimusha. Orjinal Onimusha Warlords'da analog kontroller yok sadece tank kontroller ile oynayabiliyorsunuz tıpkı eski Resident Evillar gibi ve bu oyunun zorluğunu kafadan x5 yapıyor, İşin komik kısmı aynı yıl çıkan Final Fantasy X, ICO gibi oyunlarda analog kontrollerin olması. Orjinal versiyonda kontrollere alışanaca oyunu yarılıyordunuz, bolca ölme de cabası tabi. Remaster ise yağ gibi akıyor, ne bir fps düşmesi ne anlık takılma ne de başka bir şey. Grafikler biraz daha elden geçseydi demek dışında remaster ile ilgili söyleyebileceğim olumsuz hiçbir şey yok. Onimusha Warlords tıpkı ilk RE üçlemesi ve bir çok eski JRPG gibi önceden renderlanmış arkaplanlara sahip. Gittiğiniz yöne, baktığınız tarafa göre kamera otomatik dönüyor. Açının birden değişmes...

Onimusha: Warlords is a samurai action classic… and apparently also a test of your patience. Why? Because cutscenes refuse to be skipped. Yes, every single one. Play the game long enough, and you basically get a samurai-themed slideshow of things you’ve already seen. Combat is satisfying—slice, dice, and watch enemies explode in slow motion—but just when you think you’re about to fight, BAM! Another cutscene reminding you that yes, Samanosuke did just swing his sword heroically… again. Graphics hold up surprisingly well, music is epic, and story beats are dramatic—but good luck if you replay sections, because you’re about to become intimately familiar with every dialogue, facial expression, and cinematic pan. Overall, Onimusha: Warlords delivers classic action, samurai glory, and a minor lesson in patience. Bring snacks… and maybe a journal to write down all the cutscene quotes.

While I am glad this has a port and I do like nostalgically revisiting this flawed yet fun game, the fact that you can't skip cutscenes is a crime. You are genuinely better off emulating it which shouldn't be the case.

The port is perfectly fine, works flawlessly. Every other aspect of this game is simply dumb.

Camera angles, terrible. Dialogue, wow it's bad. A classic banger that made you tremble on PS2, no doubt about it. I love doing this shit again.

What an incredibly well done remaster/port. Ran flawlessly. If you haven't played these great games from one of the best eras in gaming do yourself a favor and play them now.
