About This Game

NeverBound is the gravity-shifting shooter that adds another dimension to the traditional FPS. Take part in mind-bending combat and puzzles in multi-gravity environments. You are as dangerous from below as you are from above. Scale the walls and ceilings, or use long hallways as vertical drops, as you outmaneuver your enemies.

NeverBound takes place in a future where a fifth fundamental force of nature has been discovered. The technology quickly revolutionizes society and allows humans to simulate arbitrary directions of gravity. A new architecture for a new age arises, STRUCT, in which the flows of populous are greatly improved due to its multi-gravity nature.

The rules have changed. High ground is relative.

  • Surprise your enemies from the inverted floor above.
  • Throw grenades that can fall in any direction. Loop them around corners or let them float in Zero-G.
  • Beat down your enemies and disrupt their gravity fields with the Gravity Baton.
  • Conjure insurmountable forces to crush your foe under intense gravity.

A Revised Review 28 Aug 2018: Imagine playing a First Person Shooter (FPS) where any surface of a cube, inside and outside, could be the ground upon which you stand. Imagine one of those optical illusion drawings where all the staircases meet with each other at the oddest angles, and you could walk on anyof those staircases. Imagine a game where your sense of up and down is all relative, a game with the topsy/turvy orientation like you were watching Doctor Strange or Inception. Neverbound is a future-based FPS where nearly any surface can be used to move around and attack. While that may sound fun, your enemies have the same ability, and you can never be quite sure where the next attack is coming on (well, you eventually can, but I feel dramatic right now). From what I have played of the game (and that is everything), this is a single-player game. The enemy soldier AI gets the job done, but they are more of a threat because you don't know where they are coming from. Be careful tho...

I bought the game right after reading a post on "HTC VIVE (+PRO) Owners" on FB. I own ~125 vr games on steam and made a point of trying each at least 1 hour... And my 10 year old tries 15 min. max of each, So far Super hot was his favorite until i got NeverBound. He had 15 (pushing on 30) min. of fun until I wrestled the headset from is head. Of course this being early access he encoutered two "glitch" where he was treated to a trip to outer space( this seemed very fun too) The only mechanics that seem harder to grasp is the grenade gravity trick. It took each of us many tries and way to long in the tutorial. Apart from the small glitch and the grenade it is a very solid first person shooter with very nice graphics and a grvity twist wich kickass in VR. Over all this game is an amazing game right now and can only get better after early access.

Unique Shooter with great replay value! I bought this game because a friend recommended it to me. I have played this a fair bit and frankly I really like it, Here are my Pros and Cons. Pros: - Did not induce Nausea as I expected after seeing the trailer. Even with all the "Gravity shifting". - Finally a UNIQUE shooter for VR thats not just another wave shooter clone. - Feels very smooth and intuitive, just start the game and jump right into the action. - The "gravity shifing" feels amazing! I dont know how they did this, but every time you "Gravity shift" I get Butterlies in my stomach. -Melee weapons feel like they have real impact instead of just gliding through the enemies. - Multiple ways of clearing the stages, as in stealth vs loud and proud. Cons: - Like all Early access it still lacks much of the promised content such as PVP.

The concept is really cool, involving forms of gravity manipulation and slowing down time. The mix of shooting and puzzle solving is also refreshing when compared with most vr shooters. It also feels well polished and is easy to figure out how to play. The only thing that might deter people that are new to vr is low comfort level due to intense room movement. VR veterans won't have a problem though and will probably appreciate the intensity.

Best VR shooter on the market. Gunplay feels fluid, the scopes on a few guns are handled by using a larger square scope with the hit reticule on that without any magnification required, which works way better than the dodgy circular zoom scopes of other VR games. The teleport mechanics fit within the world itself, and the gravity-defying ragdolling of enemies adds another layer of badassery. NeverBound achieves that power fantasy that most of the last generation of console shooters have been going for. This is the only VR shooter where the mechanics were at a level where I felt the same rush of excitement as I did playing Halo or Call of Duty. While there are only a few levels currently, they are very polished and offer replayability.

This game has a lot going for it, the action is intense. The environments are mind bending with its different interactions with gravity. I really enjoyed playing around with Neverbounds grenades, the force needed to throw feels accurate and there are so many possibilities for throwing grenades around corners. Plus all the various ways of killing enemies makes you feel like a total badass. I cant wait to see what the developers bring to the table with their game.

Fun! Short on content(most early access is) but fun! That gravity thing really adds a new dimension! It can be really hard to figure out where the freaking bullets are coming from! A bit "twisty" on the brain, tho. I found that I needed to move to teleportation to deal with it. (You have all the options that you need) You think turning with a controller is hard on your brain? Wait 'til the whole freakin' world 'twists' under your feet! Yeehaaa! I recomment being careful with this one, as it may get you sick if you are not, but it's definitley fun!!!

The mechanics of this game are fantastic! I was surprised by how natural the sniper rifle felt. The game only includes a couple of missions so far, but they're really cleverly designed with some smart combat and gravity manipulation puzzles. I'm really looking forward to more missions on the way.
