About This Game

Taste of Power is a real-time strategy game set in alternate medieval times, where you fight for one of 3 factions – Europe, China, or the Middle East. In our version of history, nations clash for global dominance. The continent is an epic battlefield, so you’ll have to build cities, recruit troops, study new technologies and wipe out your opponents. Your nation needs a proper commander!

New Medieval warfare
Tactics are essential in Taste of Power. The numbers of your enemies' troops don't mean much if you meet them with a proper artillery battery. Engineering power has no limits here, as you can build mobile defenses to protect strategic positions. Build underground tunnels to move your forces across the battle lines faster and surprise your opponent!

Each nation has a unique set of units. Taste of Power offers a drastically different style of play for each faction.

European troops
European knights can form different defensive formations, like Phalanx or spear walls. Having troubles in battle? Summon the Crusaders and crush your enemies! Having issues with your army's discipline and morale? Command your monks to encourage your army with the Word of God. You can also use gunpowder and make a difference that way. It's up to you what call to make!

Middle Eastern warriors
Great warriors, Timurids, can use elephants to help their cause. Command one to crash those around, or get help from chariots with incendiary oils to burn your enemies down. Their engineers are masters of the earth digging techniques – a stealth attack through an underground tunnel will surely be lethal. Yet again, shot-calling is essential and key in the game.

Chinese heroes
Unlike the Europeans and Timurids, the Chinese have other ways of using gunpowder. Use smokescreens to protect your army from arrows, throw poison grenades and burst low-tech missiles – make the battlefield a living hell for your enemies! After that, you can call for your cavalrymen to end their suffering. You can also set traps for the enemy and medical tents for yourself.

The economy of the game is similar to strategy masterpieces. You use workers to collect resources and create different goods. The building phase is simplified, so you could focus on the grand strategy. Learning technologies is important – don’t forget to keep track of your infrastructure! Furthermore, you may be trading with incoming caravans, or simply loot them for goods. The decision is up to you!

Taste of Power is a game that challenges your strategy skills. Will you be able to make the right decisions in a limited time-frame? Prove yourself by defeating the brutal AI and feel the Taste of Power!

The Game ist still in a very early stage but the Developers seem very open with what the future content will bring and if you want to create a good game together with the Devs, I believe this could be your chance. That said, you get now a very professional tutorial (something I have never seen that good in a RTS) and 2 Maps you can play against KI. So keep in mind that the content now is small. Multiplayer will be added in late 2019 (thats what they told me). A lot of work ahead but this Game with a lot of work could become a very nice RTS people will talk about.

I want to love this game, it's exactly what I was looking for. But it's half baked and does not deliver on it's promises. It should still be in early access, this is not something I would considered "released". It's like they gave up 60% of the way through development and said "might as well release it, we're not going to finish it." My main issues, since it's listed as released (would no consider these problems in a beta/early release scenario) - Literal messages that say "insert_unit_message_here" - Select all troops is finicky, only sometimes gets all troops or selects all and half ignore commands - When multiple troops selected and click to attack only half move or only one set of troops attack while 10+ sets just sit there being attacked and don't do anything - Lack of any real tutorial (more below) Tutorial: it just says "Build continuous troops and send them here" and how to do that... but with no details on how to handle resources to keep building troops. You can figure out ...

clunky interface, poor coordination between where you are pointing and where it atually goes on the global map make this trying. While it has real potential in the form of the game like rise of nations, it has a way to go before it challanges it. I await updates and improvements... Also needs more map choices . Recommend it with some reservations

Picked it up, it is not bad, but doesn't fill the void of a good RTS game. Everything builds itself and you just manage the troops. The troops are a bit clumsy around terrain and they just have simple attack and passive modes. So you really can't hold position and engage unless engaged and the troops do not return to their held locations so your really have to micro managing the troops. Not horrible, if I could star rate it I would give it 3.5/5.

This Game needs a lot of work still and the voice acting is probably the worst ive ever come across in a game. but it has solid foundations and a lot of potential to be an amazing game. im really looking forward to seeing the final outcome and was happy to pay the price for supporting it. Good Job One Ocean allthough i hope your going to add walls!

TASTE OF POWER A Broken, poorly optimized, garbage RTS with surprising decent Graphics... The option menu is fairly void of any real ability to set certain levels of graphics or sound. You play with three civs that are fighting in this alternate time period, Europeans, Asian and Arabic nations. The city management seems pretty well put together, you can set villagers to collect resources or set to build structures. I honestly believe this could have been good if it baked alittle longer with the right team.. So far not so bad right? Well here is the biggest f*cking issue that kills it for me, path finding and unit attack commands barley work.. I sent a large army to the enemy and only half the soldiers do anything.. they literally just stand there till there killed or the few actually win. Absolute trash and I would not recommend this game at all, its really bad and the few reviews paint that picture well. 3/10

The graphics are of course outdated and sometimes there are bugs. But how good it is that real RTS games are still appearing with fresh ideas and dynamic game mechanics! I recommend to all RTS fans!

I really like the game: The Lord of the Ring: The Battle for Middle-earth. And finally, I found a worthy sequel. I Got double satisfaction. The first from a good game and the second from the fact that I was able to help people in the fight against coronavirus COVID-19 .Team lot of respect.
