This game is criminally underrated. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel in terms of gameplay mechanics, but it more than makes up for it with superb art direction that will stand the test of time for years to come. The visuals, complemented by the music and its charming characters, create an eerie, anxiety-inducing atmosphere that pulls you in completely. The narrative builds in intensity right up to the very end. Highly recommended — and I’ll be diving straight into the sequel immediately.

A mesmerizing and heartbreaking tale of Amicia and her younger brother Hugo. One of the best narratives I've ever experienced. Unforgettable. Highly recommend!
Most annoying game ever, filled with aggravation instead of character interaction and the story itself. You soon discover the game is too much fight & die, rinse and repeat, to be entertaining. I am all for challenging sections, but every room in every house, every 20 seconds another fight and die, rinse and repeat, prevents you from following the story or moving the story along. I found it so irritating and repetitive fighting over and over and over again to the point of being an unpleasant experience, at least for me. The graphics are phenomenal, the music is great, the voiced actors and script are superb but this game is non stop fight and die repeat over and over again you lose the focus of a story.

Do not play this if you use mouse/keyboard. The controls are clearly made for console/controller, and playing it with mouse is a shit experience.
To be honest, A Plague Tale: Innocence is a solid game that easily gets an 8.5 out of 10. The story mode is intense and interesting, the characters and NPCs are well made, and the optimization is great. As for the graphics better to stay silent (they're amazing). It’s a game you must play if you enjoy passive or stealth gameplay. What I didn’t like were the occasional bugs with the rats, but they happened rarely, so in conclusion, the game is worth it.

Just finished the game. Hugo is an annoying little shit. The story is pretty basic which is the central point to this whole game. It feels like a bad tomb raider, which also follows a linear story, but is just way better in every way. Towards the end I was just playing it for the sake of finishing it rather than any interest in the story or characters.
A good game but if you hate boss battles and stealth you'll most likely not like it. The graphics, setting, story and occasional music was very good (graphics blow me away honestly) but overall it was a frustrating experience, I thought I was either going nuts or just stupid with a couple sections but turns out they were just bugged and a reset would fix them.
Easily one of the best, most complete single player, narrative driven games I've played in recent times. Perfect length, nothing too complex mechanics-wise but always stays fresh with clever little twists to the general slingshot combat. The story might not be for everyone, but it really hooked me in - looking forward to seeing where it goes in the next game. If anything, I recommend it purely for the incredible visuals, sound, vfx, etc. 5000 rats rendering in real-time and responding to each other, player movement, and dynamic light is awesome to behold. I've since seen some dude replicate this (somewhat) in Unreal Engine 5, but kudos to team Asobo for developing such a polished, performant system back in 2020ish. Finally, would recommend playing in french for the complete immersive experience.
