Played On: HTC Vive
The opening scene of The Dream Collector shows a young man with an electric guitar, on a bridge. He plays a note, hugs it, and then chucks it over the concrete into oblivion. The next moment, his clothes are changed to business attire, complete with tie. This opening sequence resonated strongly with me, as I'm sure it will many, regardless if you had dreams of being a musician or not; the item is merely symbolic. As you may have guessed by now, The Dream Collector is a short animated story about a magical man, his dog, and his ability to find, fix-up, and recycle discarded dreams. Whether they be broken guitars, deflated soccer balls, busted baseball mitts, you name it and the man can fix it with the help of some magic. The scenes follow him throughout the seasons, as he collects, fixes, and sends these items to an unknown location. All is revealed in a surprise ending that's definitely worth sticking around for. Even though this title is only 12 ...

Very cute, nice Christmas story. About 12 minutes length. Animations are well done for the most part. No dialogue. But the message is conveyed well. Not exactly Pixar, but this Pinta Studios has talent. I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch controller and it worked fine, except starting the thing was harder than it had to be. Rating 7/10.
Excellent little short film for VR. This is the future of animation films. At the moment with 80 percent discount for 39 cents. Absolutely must have. Check out my video review (spoiler free - trailer and comments) https://youtu.be/YVeX6pnYEK4
I adore this short film -- it perfectly demonstrates the immense potential of VR as a storytelling medium. Honestly, I wish it were a full two hours. I think I watched the entire thing with my mouth open, gazing at all the clever, beautiful ways that the story was told. I showed this to everyone in my family, one by one, after watching it myself, and each one of them was mesmerized by it. Even my dad, who has severe mobility issues and can't do most VR experiences, was able to sit in a chair and watch, and he loved it. I can't wait for more films to be released that use this sort of immersive, "placing the viewer INSIDE the story" kind of format. The ability to move around and view the action from multiple angles was breathtaking.
Heartwarming. Buy and watch before christmas. Recommended!! ----- technical flaws: Somehow went into reprojection even on my GTX1080ti,2Ghz @ SS1.0x especially when lightsources have been added to the scene. But you shouldn't notice much/anything of it while the movie plays. However the animations will not look as smooth. Initially I had reprojection disabled so I could see the warning FPS drop message. It's weird we get reprojection at such level of graphics fidelity (comic).
+Beautiful little story +Whimsical +Merry +Not too expensive for short movie -It's only a short movie with nothing you can interact with. 3/5 Great short little film, though would be better if there was some interaction, For 2 bucks I'd definitely give it some love.
loved it thankyou very much need more of this as not everyone wants to play games in VR all the time price point is nice right now too
Wonderful Story and so much fun. I really like the dog also. This is great for Children and Adults too. It is a Feel good VR Adventure. Thank you
Wonderfull VR movie. Nothing interactive, except where you look, but that doesn't lessen the production value, or the really touching story. To those who complain about the price tag (got it for 1.39 on sales, it's 1.99 normally at the time of this review) I can only say "you have no clue". Fromwriting the story, over modelling, lighting (big part in this one), and animation it's a lot of work.
