About This Game

An artistic metroidvania with a classic NES era gameplay, taking the player through the life of an average man escaping his depression in a partly imaginary world he created around him.
The game takes place in an old, still running business housing. Main character meets various different people on his path to find more happiness in his life.

In each environment different types of enemies await to attack you, each with its own
strengths and patterns. Improve your tactics while fighting in either of the 3 difficulties.

Apart from it's attacking power, each power is equipped with a special ability that you
have to combine in order to make your way through the levels and uncover all the
secrets. Collect orbs to upgrade your powers for maximum efficiency in your fights.

At the end of each section of the building a powerful boss awaits to fight you.
Overcome your past and the fears that haunt you to regain your true self.

Buy items from the shops or obtain them from quests around the building.
Use them to unlock new areas and defeat all the enemies that block your way.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been avoiding this one. I picked it up around its original release because I’m a pretty big fan of the developer’s previous game, Spaceport Hope. The pitch is good, the game looks expansive, and so I had high hopes for digging deep into External Visions. But it didn’t take me long to start running into roadblocks to my enjoyment, more and more until I decided to put the game down for awhile. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for an off-beat metroidvania, I thought. I’ve tried to get back into it several times since then, and each time has only solidified what I already knew… It’s not me, game, it’s you. External Visions ostensibly takes place in the mind of a regular everyman struggling with depression. His battle has turned his mental landscape into an actual battlefield, rife with grotesque monsters and oppressive entities. If he is to have any chance of escaping his pain, you’ll need to guide him through the vast halls and labyrinths to do battle...

This game is honestly really amazing, especially for a person such as myself who RARELY every plays and type of playformers besides from the few oldschool on the NES and I find that this is very much a challenge. Yes there is some really cheap deaths and yes it does feel like an enemy is impossible to kill at times , But trust me there is always a way around it almost making it like a puzzle for each enemy. But something I really dislike is the cheap deaths like the ones you wouldn't know about unless you had to retry that area before. Like when I'm walking through corridors and some ghost woman pops out giving me a single second to react fucks me over! , BUT The checkpoints aren't too bad and it'll only take a maximum of 2 Minutes to get back to where you were. But honestly this game is a challenge and is defiantly worth paying for. I love the artwork and the effort that you can visually see that has been put into the game, I love the setting of this game and I feel like many people...

This is a really solid game. It offers you alot of content for its price. I'd also recomend you check out SpacePort Hope. Made by the same devs and its really great.

Pretty cool game, got stuck at a few spots but eventually figured it out and beat the game. The final boss fight was weird at first but I eventually got what to do. Each powerup has its ups and downs but pretty decent otherwise.

A really fun 2D platform adventure rpg with lots of weapons to buy from the shops as well as special upgrades to be discovered in game through explorations. Controls are good and there are a lot of levels to explore. I absolutely loved it and am looking forward to External Visions 2 with many more levels, weapons, upgrades, and bosses.

This has to be the best Metroidvania game I have played since Axiom Verge. I Found out after paying for it I could get a refund and get the game for free in November. Its a great game and I didn't mind paying for it.

I didn't like this game for various reasons. Basically It's like if the game wasn't finished. Their previous game was much better ("Spaceport Hope") or "Environmental Station Alpha" is also better game, but the one i'm really looking forward to for sure is "Treasure Adventure World". PROS: custom controls + each weapon do different things CONS: no story (or at least i didn't understand) + map is really ugly + no funny to play + etc
