At first glance, Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo appears to be an average space shooter. It is in fact much more than that. It has a good variety of game modes each with their own individual mechanics. The game is fun and reminds me of many retro games. Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo becomes addictive quite quickly and is a lot of fun to play in local co-op as well. The game improves on the original in all areas and the new ‘Save the Colony’ mode brings new challenges. The game has that ‘just one more go’ feeling. The ship list is vast with 15 space blasters to unlock. Each space blaster has different stats meaning there is something for everyone. Being able to upgrade power-ups and buy perks in the shop is a great addition too and really helps on long score-chasing runs. Pros: • Addictive, challenging gameplay • Great variety of ships • Upgrade shop • Amazing soundtrack • Varied game-modes • Local co-op • Real arcade retro shooter feel Cons: ...

We are a small, two person, video game development studio based in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo was made by only one of us, Ste Wilson as a solo dev project. After the success of Super Mega Space Blaster Special we decided to make a massively expanded 'Turbo Edition' whilst still continuing the development of our much bigger metroidvania action-RPG The Flawless: Art's Tale. Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo expands on the original in every area with more game modes, more space blasters, more challenges, more music, a huge shop, and loads more.
We wanted to make a shoot 'em up (shmup) that blended modern and retro mechanics to create a nostalgic yet up-to-date shooter that gives you the 'just one more go' feeling. Now you can be the judge of this, leave a Steam review and let us know what you think. We are open to feedback and want to improve the game in any way we can. If you have any issues with the game please feel free to let us know and we'll do our best to solve the problem. We hope you enjoy the game, Happy blasting!

I love this game, from the huge variety of space ships and upgrades in the store you can buy, the many powerups and game modes, the achievements, leaderboards, challenges and more. Everything is great, there's not a bad thing I can say about this game. I really hope it gets some more love as it deserves a lot more attention then it's been getting. I haven't played the co-op modes yet but i'm sure their great as well whether you play splitscreen or via remoteplay. There was definitely a lot of love put into this game from the addictive soundtrack and sound effects to retro graphics and precise controls and gameplay, I love it! I've always been a sucker for shoot em ups but this game truly is fantastic. Initially I was just going to pop an achievement or two and see if I liked the game. The controls took me a few minutes to get used to but then I realized how much fun and variety this game has to offer. Not to mention even if someone is amazing at these kind of games, there's always the...
An excellent shooter and a huge expansion of the original. The new colony mode is a lot of fun, and the extra ships and upgrades really add to the game. It plays best with a controller but keyboard functions fine especially with the redefine keys option. The game is quite challenging but worth putting the time into as this is a great retro space shooter, definitely recommended.
Great space shooter with a cool retro feel. Works well with my PS4 controller and has a lot to do for the price. Loads of challenges to complete, ships to unlock, and upgrade to get. Definitely recommended. Even more fun in 2 player as well.
Really awesome coop space shooter. Loads of fun doing the the challenges, love the sound track. Overall a super mega fun shooter for not that much cash!
So far enjoying this game! A good amount of variety with the modes, with much different objectives in each. Worth playing if you enjoy top down space shooters. Easy to jump into and play. One minor issue - played on a larger format monitor (3440 x 1440 resolution) and the text for the Mode descriptions was super tiny. Otherwise solid title :).
Really fun space blaster, great to see a developer putting solid controller support and local co-op in a low price game. Very challenging game play so not for moaning gamers, you really have to learn how to play and improve just like in old retro games. The upgrades and ships keep the game feeling fresh and some of the challenges are a lot of fun.
Awesome game, loads of space stuff to shoot. Enjoying the challenges will keep coming back to play.
Adding multiple controllers did not work for me, they both selected player 1. Also no keyboard-controller local coop possible :(
Really like the new modes and improvements. It just brings back those memories of shooting stuff in space when I was a kid. Solid game all round!
