About This Game

BAPTISM is a short kinetic novel about a madman, a child, and a lake.

This is a story about a religious family living in the western United States, and the strange events that caused their lives to change forever.

Featuring almost 5000 words of story, hand drawn graphics, an original soundtrack, and a free art book, this project was brought to you be the wonderful people on Kickstarter!

I think this is a wonderfully sad little story about a family torn apart by religious beliefs and their own singular tragedies. It's beautifully written, and has some excellent art both of the drawn and photographic variety, and wonderful music. The static image of the angel statue that the family has in their home is honestly gorgeous, and I'd even buy it as a print if I could. I also love the design of each of our main characters as like biblically accurate angels with their eyes closed most of the time until near the end, but I don't want to spoil the ending. (I will just say it's not a happy one.) However, I would be amiss to not point out that this is one, just a half hour long, and two, doesn't have any broader "gameplay" so to speak. It's just "tap spacebar and read", but for something like this, and only for about a dollar, I'd say that's more than fine, and it was an overall positive experience for me.
