Cloudpunk looks like a fun game. It reminds me of the venerable Space Taxi. It's a Voxel game with some impressive visuals. You play a delivery driver in a floating sandbox city, fleeing from some old debts and a chopped up story line of little significance. The biggest issue in this game is the direction. The story is quite frankly confusing. You're playing a kindergarten teacher who likes to speak to herself, or her imaginary virtual friend dog that she uploaded onto her vehicle's AI "slot". She likes to imagine that she's a delivery driver in a floating city of the future, and this becomes some of the most mediocre script I've had to endure this year. There is a serious divide between the subject mater in Cloudpunk and the presentation that is made for children. There are countless single sentence dialogs that you can't skip. Torturous is putting it mildly. I love that the design was taken to an extreme, and absolutely ZERO grinding missions are offered at any time during the ga...

Interesting game and beautiful city. I really hate the main character though, she feels extremely flat and uninteresting, her dialog choices are also kinda weird and annoying. She asks AI for info on X, gets into trouble for asking. She then meets something that is like, I am X Then she's all like, uuh, yeah, sure buddy, whatever, I'm not interested. Like jesus, why TF did she ask about it in the first place when, when she is faced with it, she just blows it off and gives mid answers? Hnnnnngh, so annoying. Besides that, the controls feel spongy AF, some kind of navigation system would be handy and the running around trying to find which lift takes you to the right level of a bit of city to get/deliver shit is annoying AF, I spend way too much time running around not knowing where to go to get the shit I need.
It's more story dressed as a game, than game with a story.
Such a great game. Immersive world and main story. Finished in a couple of days and already onto the DLC.
I love this game. I bought it and VA-11 Hall-A. If I had to buy either of those games again, I'd buy both. I'd have to.
One of the most memorable games for me in the last years...
Unique on its style and cozy to play. Nice soundtracks though. DLC is more of the same, so do not expect better or new things. Looking forward ofr Nivalis
I've wanted to play this game for a while and absolutely love it. I don't think this is a game for everyone cause it's just you basically doing fetch quests to unlock more of the story. This is to be expected though cause the description of the game clearly states that you're a delivery driver, just don't buy it expecting combat or something. You fly your H.O.V.A. (basically a flying car) around a cyberpunk looking city. I found the H.O.V.A. deceptively difficult to handle on the "highway" type structures in both first person and 3rd person (I sometimes just couldn't stop myself from crashing into other HOVAs). Luckily you can however repair your vehicle (for a fee of course) at a couple different mechanics throughout the city so unless you wanna get the achievement to not do so on your first run you don't have to worry too much about not bumping into stuff. While there is no health bar (which is a little annoying) you van identify vehicle health by looking at the amount of cracks in t...
Quintessential cyberpunk, both thematically and aesthetically. It’s full of references to classic cyberpunk literature and popular films, while still offering new twists and turns I didn’t expect—all wrapped in the coziest dystopian world I’ve ever experienced. The gameplay itself isn’t particularly exciting, but it is relaxing, and the game leans heavily on its story.
Cloudpunk is an excellent, atmospheric, story-driven game that explores a lot of subjects on the course of driving around a futuristic cyberpunk metropolis called Nivalis.
