Outside has been in early access since December 2017 with no updates for a year now since January 2018 despite a notice that states “Every two weeks there will be updates" upon launching the game. There is very little to do in the game. The player is placed in a forest where you can run along the hill on the edge of map that eventually leads to some empty, single room cabins. I regret to have bought 3 of Evil Game Studios/Electrostalin Entertainment games in the Otaku Bundle 36. The developer revoked keys on Jan 1, 2019 for all 3 games stating he was not paid. However, the bundle did not end until Dec 26, 2018. The contract states payment will be given 30 days after the sale period is over: https://ibb.co/NpNdVHm The developer has begun hardcore suppression by deleting comments and topics about the matter to avoid any resolution. Luckily, the main discussion was archived, as well as his initial announcement: https://web.archive.org/web/20190103185338/https://steamcommunity.com...

probably one of the worst games i've played. Sorry dev, I have to be honest here. No sounds, no sense, no bad guys. Just sh%tty wolves.
Lot of crashes...
Should have read the reviews first, so I take part of the blame for this crappy experience. Game is buggy, broken and doesn't even get past the opening scene majority of the time before completely freezing up. It is not worth it, not even if it were free. Complete rubbish.
Being forced to to give a game a thumbs up or thumbs down is super sucky. Sometimes games have tremendous potential but currently suck even though they're still in development and meeting the potential is still possible. So there's my argument for creating a more fluid rating system on steam. I thought I'd add my voice because I know the couple million other complaints gamers have made against the Steam ratings system have been ignored. But this is me and my ego demands I add my voice to the cacophony. Outside has amazing potential. I played for an hour last night doing nothing but walking in the woods, searching for a maniac and outrunning wolves (which is an incredible ability I didn't know I had. I'm heading to Yellowstone to try it in real life. Should be even more exciting than the game!) The sound of the snow was great, the sound of insects in the middle of the winter in the wilderness was surprising. I tried to look for the insects by crouching which allowed me to duck about a ...
I actually bothered to finished the game, twice, before posting this review. The goal of the game is to find 3 pages around the map, then go back to the starting cabin to select which page you think has the name of the maniac written on it. The location of the pages are non-random. Chosing one of the 2 wrong pages gets you the bad ending and choosing the right page gets you the good ending. There's no in-game clue as to which page is correct, it's mostly just using common sense. Besides pages, you also pick up health kits, water, and pills. Health kits restore your health, water restores your stamina, and it's unclear what pills do. There are two enemy types; wolves and the maniac. They don't seek you out, they're just positioned around the map and they attack you when you get too close to them. You run away from both of them, and they should lose track of you before you run out of stamina. The maniac walks around the village area and doesn't really do anything special besides chase...
After playing this game I can undoubtedly confirm that it is terrible. Bought on June 11th, played on June 11th - the first thing I noticed was a variety of Christmas songs used for the main menu. It is my understanding that this isn't a Christmas themed game. This leaves me to believe that the last time this game was updated was during the Christmas period of 2018 and the dev(s) never cared to revert it back to a non-holiday theme. The game's artwork looks great, which makes me wonder how much they paid for it. Audio cuts in and out seemingly on a whim. Objects float in the environment. The "Maniac" is permanently stuck in a wall and continuously walks on the spot. This has been an issue for quite some time now, if other reviews are anything to go by, and the dev(s) have done NOTHING to fix this problem. The core protagonist of the game! The whole thing the plot revolves around! AND THEY CAN'T BE BOTHERED! I can only assume that the dev(s) take no pride in their work. I'd like to co...
Really excited for the final release of this game! I wish I could have seen more of the actual maniac but not too upset because the game is still in early access! Thanks for loads of uneasiness! Here is my play through of the EA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vX7wE1Efww
i like this game
Had this in my extensive library and decided to give it a shot to see what all the reviews are on about. You can only interact with what is outlined making exploring pretty boring. There's only random wolves that chase you and stop out of nowhere. No clear explanation of how you get aggro or how to lose it. There's so many major grammatical errors that I lost my desire to play pretty quickly. The only thing scary about this game is that it was released at all. I also just read the developer stating that they don't plan on making any updates to this game. I can't recommend this even out of curiosity.
