Set in the fictional and mysterious haunted forest of Green Creek, full of apparitions waiting to be discovered.
Use your camera and audio recorder to prove the existence of the supernatural, putting yourself in grave danger.

Camping in the haunted forest of Green Creek during the night was never a good idea.
However, it’s the only way to prove the existence of the supernatural.
Are you be brave enough to face ghosts, demons, and other inhabitants of Green Creek?
With no defense against the otherworldly apparitions – your only chance is to hide deep enough not to be noticed!

Use your camera and audio recorder to prove the existence of the supernatural.
You can speak with ghosts using the Spirit Board, a well-known spiritual communication device.
But beware! Choose your questions wisely, discouraging or angering those you summon could be disastrous...

The more traces of ghosts you record, the more gear customization options are made available.
Use your tools wisely and try to stay alive – supernatural beings don’t like to be recorded!
Hide from all the dangerous creatures to keep your progress and explore deeper into the forest.

Apparition is a game where you're trying to gain score points by doing a ghost investigation. I didn't play very long into this game as I couldn't get into it. There was a lot of issues I encountered that made the game less than enjoyable. I'll list them below. I'm not a fan and I wouldn't recommend it. It was worth a shot. It seems to have potential, but maybe I wasn't understanding the mechanics of the game to fully enjoy it. PROS: * Good atmosphere * Good SFX * Decent graphics CONS: * No tutorial or explanation on how to play (journal doesn't really give you a good clue on what you should be doing) * Going out of bounds is instant kill, but it's hard to tell where the out of bounds are besides a note on the screen * No indication when you go BACK in bounds to a safe area * Scroll wheel to change what equipment you're using seems to be really unreliable. Using the numbers pad or tab inventory would have been better * No explanation of what you need to do * Controller support didn't...
-Update for 6/2020 -Game appears abandoned. Critical features almost unanimously requested by the community like -turning off the random jump scares- still haven't been implemented. No evidence of activity on the forums since late last year. Avoid this until it's been given a proper treatment. Original review proceeds below: This is excellent. I used to do this spooky stuff all the time back in '01-'03, and this pretty neatly sums up the paranormal investigator lifestyle. You start out broke and ill-equipped, trespassing on private property and scaring yourself witless with every creak and gust of wind. The property you're investigating is comprised of a couple cabins, sheds, and campsites. You earn experience collecting evidence (pics/vids) and talking to spirits with your ouija board. Once the fear is too much you hightail it back to your truck and gtfo. You use the exp gained to bring better gear the next time. Maybe then you start to get really brave and spend time chatting wi...
This game immitates the immersion of the feeling of something watching you out in the woods and leaving you cautious and freaked out. It's like real life when you are afraid to turn around and preysomething isn't behind you. This isn't some psychological BS, it's actual straight up supernatural horror/eerie atmostphere. Other than the atmosphere, I decided to write a review for once to point out a horror game that actually has a way to be replayable and fun. (SPOILERS) The unique idea of earning credits for capturing stuff is really neat and for going back to do it again with freedom of how much you want to do. I pray that this makes it to full game and not remain early access because I don't think this concept has been done before for a horror game.
My girlfriend told me about this, and when I saw it was only 7.99 I got it and I'm pretty sure this is the most scariest game I have ever played. It out does Amnesia. So much random things happens and its not jump scares. It's like ghosts. I.. I can't explain it. Just play it.
Amazing potential, but they aren't doing much with it
First off left me say I love horror games. I've played quite a few in my life and love them all. Now let me say that this is hands down the only one that has literally made me jump and yell. My smartwatch says that my heartrate goes up when I play this. The sudden noises and hearing things chase you is unnerving. I can't belive this is early access because it is already crazy to play! I can't even imagine what they could add to this! All I know is despite my jumpscares playing this, I haven't really gotten very far at all because I keep getting caught, is that I still play this game! It terrifies me more than the first time I hit the water area in Amnesia The Dark Descent (and I jumped during that part and my keyboard and mouse flew off my desk!) So, I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who loves jumpscares, bumps in the night, legit scary games!
I have got to give this game a positive review, because it is so freaking scary! I also love the concept, it's an RPG/roguelike combined with an FPS scare fest. The problem is that the game throws too much at you all at once. there is no strategy allowed if i don't even know what i'm going up against. I think each run should be an investigation into one type of monster (that you determine via spirit board). as it is now its just too difficult, perhaps a random mode (as it is now) could unlock as a new gameplay mode after players become familiar with how each creature acts. as it is now it's like a pizza with everything on it, when most often i prefer a cheese or pepperoni. I only suggest this knowing that all of the content is already in the game, and don't want to come across as someone complaining that there are no pancakes in my waffles.
https://youtu.be/iZdJXCVCx7c So basically you are a paranormal investigator and you need to collect evidence by way of photos and video of demonic hauntings and through conducting seances witha quija board. . There is also a rogue like element tht if you die you lose all your experience. Hoever if you get to your car and leave, then you keep your experience allowing you to take better equipment the bnext time you play. The game does throw you in at the deep end, with little hand holding. However the basic mechanics are easy enough to figure out, and the game looks pretty good and the ambient audio is pretty effective. In game performance was also good and there is also controller support. So my biggest gripes - number one is the irritating 'jump' scares that flash up. They occur waaay too often quickly becoming an annoyance, rather than a fright. Two - the play area is very small. As this is early acces, hopefully the devs will expand the map, but at the moment you only have a ...
man this is a great scary game October 31 2020 UPDATE: It has been officially 2 full years since this game has come out on October 31 2018 and we have not have a single update but a date that telling us on Feb 26 2019 that the full release date of Apparition is in July of 2019 that never came true. No gravity games what is the hold up on this game beside dealing with Covid-19?
