About This Game

Empire Deluxe Combined Edition is the latest in the classic Empire Series of games, which has spanned almost five decades.

Empire Deluxe is a game about taking cities. Starting with just one, the city enables a commander to produce units. These units in turn can directly attack or support the attack of more cities. Your imperialistic desires are not satisfied until you have taken every city on the map.

Then there is an added complication:

There can be multiple opponents with the same goal. You cannot work with them to capture all of the cities. They don't want to work with you. You must work against them. You spend a good amount of time preventing them from taking your cities, and you try your best to capture their cities.

So come back to the classic 4x strategy wargame that has inspired so many other games!

Not just from nostalgia, this is a fun turn based all out war game where the winner has the best supplies and supply lines.

Rating after 7 hours of play: 8/10. A conversation with one of my brothers about the many enjoyable hours we spent playing “Empire: Wargame of the Century” on the Amiga prompted me to search for the existence of something similar on Steam (much in the same way nostalgic memories of “Scorched Earth” lead me to "ShellShock Live”). Imagine my delight when I found this edition, which not only has the classic game, but incorporates a huge amount of ways you can customize your game, from making it even simpler to adding a whole ton of stuff to it! I’ve played a couple of games against an AI opponent (that feels very weak on the standard settings, but I’m sure I can adjust that), and now I’m anxious to see if I can get a game going online against one or more of my brothers.
