About This Game
The game has an isometric view on the level, which stands out from the typical for this genre top-down or side view and adds some depth to the environment. The graphics are simple yet eye-catching, with lots of stuff happening on screen. There's no room for boredom.
Key features include most of what you'd expect to see in an arcade shooter: fluid controls, a variety of enemies, power-ups, changing environments, player progression, score, etc.

It is bright. It is loud. It is hard. Is it good? I wouldn't say so. There is no tutorial to speak of, enemy projectiles seem random and due to the high bloom, it's impossible to dodge them properly. So it's difficult in that way that is not very fun at all. https://youtu.be/Yu-8hL4jBnA
Whilst I haven't played Preventive Strike for very long, it was long enough to discover that it's a bit of a pain in the neck. It is a scrolling game (up and down) in which the player flies a helicopter, shooting at enemy vehicles and ground installations, as well as collecting any bonus items that present themselves along the way. I had two major gripes with the game: 1) I felt as though all I was doing was constantly spamming my left and right mouse buttons (to shoot) - it was more of an exercise in how to get RSI, than it was in game-playing. Spamming my mouse buttons over and over and over again, without let up, was not an enjoyable experience - it didn't make for a fun game. [Update: The dev has advised that you can just hold down the mouse buttons to shoot, although that is not made clear in the game.] 2) The controls can't be changed, which is a pain for those of us who don't want to use the standard controls. I mean, come on, it's the 21st century, for decades we've ...
Bringing back the old school with this. I remember playing arcade scrollers back with a joystick, nostalgia or what. Seemingly well made game and not that much to buy. Only 4 levels so far so I hope to see more. Maybe make the levels longer but with less action? Non stop fighting which is a shame imo, I like a little more pilot time and avoidance than throw everything at me apart from the kitchen sink. Take a look at some gameplay from me: https://youtu.be/6JXDP6Vtky0
insanly difficult.. only if you like getting slapped in the face.
This game is like an old arcade game i was playing when i was kid with the Sega GENESIS CD graphix. This is a good try to have fun with it but it was not. I think i'have bought this game in a Bundle or mabe just by curiosity but... At that price, you can try it but it's not a really good game.
I enjoyed playing Preventive Strike a lot. The game is very engaging and rewarding. To progress through the levels, I had to focus really hard, but it was totally worth it. Although somewhat short, the game is reasonably priced for the variety of content and plenty of challenge it offers. I am looking forward to future updates from this author!
Don't buy it, play the demo first, see for yourself. Bougth it cheap, even so, a waste. Be greeted from the first seconds with a veritable fire rain. Could only survive with a trainer, "played" a couple, deleted it. No room to maneuver, no beauty, no alternatives, no sense to it, no fun, just a mess of constant firerain.
Difficult game but fun.
While it is pretty, in that "Look what I made all by myself" way, this is a really bad game. I was hoping for a fun arcade shooter but this fails at being fun. It would have been a bad arcade game as well since they want to keep you playing long enough to keep dropping quarters in the slot. Your helicopter is HUGE and makes dodging bullets nearly impossible and you have to shoot enemies so many times that you're stuck in front of them like a sitting duck. Don't waste your time or money on this game.
