This game is... Really strange. Like it looks decent enough and plays alright, but I can't fully describe how it really makes me feel. If anything, kind of disappointing waiting years to play a game only to find out it just doesn't play very good, even on easier modes. -The bosses have far too much health for some reason? -No lock-on control, as the game just forces it on every enemy, with he camera spinning around way too much. -The main characters don't really have much chemistry and they're kind of annoying to listen to, actually. -Whatever drugs that led them to going "Let's reuse starter equipment to enhance other equipment", just why??? It would make more sense if it hints at you needing to save them, but no. I literally only found this out by asking other people online. That's insanely backwards. I feel like there is a good game under all this insanity, but I don't know if I can take playing the entire game to find it. Up to ya'll if you want to get it, since ...

About the Game
A world of nature drawn with the “Atmospheric Shader”
We are introducing a new graphics shader, inspired by anime and watercolor painting. Characters with attractive designs travel among backgrounds filled with beautiful and delicate visuals.
Explore a world that feels alive
Explore the world of Dahna, where a mix of unique, natural environments change in appearance based on the time of day. Climb over the rocky terrain, swim in rivers, gather around the campfire, cook food, head to the next town, defeat the master of an alien planet, and liberate the people!
Stylish action and battles
Through the new system “Boost Strike”, you can now chain combos of powerful attacks together with your party members. Chain Artes, Boost Attacks, and Boost Strike combos to take down your enemies!
Experience the story of the divided Renan and Dahnan people
The protagonists who will determine the fate of these two worlds are Alphen and Shionne. They will overcome hardships and grow together with their unique group of friends. Gorgeous animation by ufotable is inserted at key points in the story, adding more color to our protagonists’ journey.

starting with the gameplay: combat is easy to pickup, but once you get into the dodging and animation cancel mechanic, you'll need some time; close to no exp or gold grind is needed, just make sure to explore the whole map and you'll have enough resource--if not abundant. the game is heavily put in story-driven perspective with the approach of taking time to explain things in details and allow you to get to know the characters. it could get a bit philosophical too sometimes, but i personally think they did it pretty well. some dialogues might be a little cringe and feels anime-y, but the casual and day to day interaction is *chef kiss*
The best looking game in the "Tales of" Franchise. JP dub is better than English.
while i would highly recommend this game , the story was fun the music is amazing the world is beautiful ,and the combat.........i wouldnt say its bad but it has major issues and probably my main and only complaint about the game . still recommended it though
This game is the definition style over substance. Pros: good story, fantastic art, great OST, well thought out characters (mostly) Mids: dlc is overpriced for outfit packs, improper balancing for bosses (damage sponges) Cons: confusing maps and quest markers, "difficulty spikes", repetitive game play Over the course of the game I found myself having less fun over the course of the journey. Where the story and characters do well the opposite is to be said about the game play. An excessive health pool is not a valid substitute for actual difficulty. By the end I had reduced the games setting to easy to get through the rest of the story since boss battles about midway through the game became a resource grind due to how much expenditure you will experience just to keep the 10-30min fights going for little exp or money. Boss mechanics and player settings where nothing special to write about in terms of game play so it cant really say this is a "hard" game. If you prefer this type of expe...
Mereka kuat bukan karna hebat dalam bertarung, tapi mereka kuat karna ada yang harus mereka lindungi..
While this game may not be for everyone, it definitely was for me. This is one of my favorite games and it has left me feeling empty after completing it. I love every character and how they interact. I love the world and the story is pretty good. There is a lot of focus on the story. If you don't like spending a LOT of time watching cutscenes, then this might not be the game for you. I liked all the small stories and how they made me laugh. Even the side content is good. I found this because I loved Final Fantasy 15 (espesially the combat) and was looking for games with similar combat. This is one of those games. I enjoy the combat system and all the skills while being able to choose which character I want to play as. Overall I really enjoyed and love this game.
I play in 2022 & 2025. Some spoilers in review.
Story
The story is very compelling. The plot starts off strong with introducing Alphen. Taken in by he knows nothing about himself other than been found and wearing a bucket on his head. Ergo, you know nothing. The development of the story progresses so amazingly well from then on. Each encounter with each of the major cast and their intros are very well done. Alphen meets Shionne in a similar way we get introduced to him, sudden and know nothing about the character. The two get inextricably linked as their stories are intertwined and are destined by fate. I loved how Zephyr, a major side character til he dies in the 2nd act was such a crucial stepping stone for our gang early on. How we meet and bond with Rinwell, Law, Dohalim, and Kisara was excellent, too. The devs paid attention to each characters' story and their development and how it affected each of them and as individuals. The focus on Alphen and Shionne really got...
Gorgeous graphics, and the storyline is very interesting as well. But the combat and the grinding are not for me.
The story was pretty enjoyable, not exactly exceptional, but still worth the ride. At first, I was kinda annoyed by the main character’s personality, but I ended up enjoying how he developed throughout the story. The ending though… left me speechless. So yeah, the story was not bad, but I didn’t really like the ending. Not the ending itself, but the way the story got there. Other than that, everything was fine. As for the gameplay, it’s fun. Pretty much what you’d expect from a Tales series game, though the battles weren’t as smooth as I hoped, but still enjoyable. Juts... The balancing felt kinda weird. I actually struggled more against the mid-boss monsters than the actual bosses. For me, every boss—except Almeidra—was easier than the mid-bosses. Especially near the end, in the final map, where you have to fight a bunch of mid-bosses. By the time I reached the last boss (not Vholran), I had burned through almost all my items, and my CP was literally zero. But the boss...
