Best Tales of game. All the cast is lovely and well-written. The story has a good-pace, the artwork is lovely, and the gameplay is not convoluted.
I'm sure this deserves some of the accolades it gets from Tales fans but boy does it not do it for me. Combat somehow feels stiffer than Symphonia, new mechanics are on a glacial drip feed, the story does absolutely nothing and goes nowhere for my entire time playing and Yuri alone isn't enough to carry this one-note menagerie of a party.
Shame they didn't bring back Troy Baker as the lead role for this. Still a fun game, probably the best story out of any Tales game at least

This is the game that got me into JRPGS. Great story with a fun cast you get to see grow both together and as individuals.
My favorite Tales game and one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. The characters have strong personalities that make them stick with you long after the credits, the gameplay has enough depth and complexity to keep you learning and growing over the entire story, and the visuals are timelessly well executed thanks to great use of cel shading. I strongly recommend picking this up if you love JRPGs.
