About This Game

For generations, the High Mountain has preserved its reputation as one shrouded in mystery. Its origin remains unknown, its interiors remain unseen. The dreadful sierra holds many secrets bound to be unraveled by one brave, or rather, reckless adventurer. Thou, come forth and let the world know of treasures that no eye has ever set its sight on before. Exploration is nigh.

High Mountain Roller Coaster VR is a trip into the very depths of the unknown. Prepare to see a world like no other in one of the most immersive roller coaster experiences in Virtual Reality to date. The tracks will be your guide, embrace their path and they will reward your curious eyes.

FEATURES:

 • Diverse environments - the High Mountain may seem as a snowy, cold, and desolate destination at first, however, its setting drastically shifts into a completely different one the further you advance.

 • Powered by Unreal 4 - featuring UE4’s famous rendering system the High Mountain experience is the perfect opportunity to test out what Virtual Reality is truly capable of.

 • Full HTC Vive and Oculus support - designed and developed to enable the immersive experience to both headset owners.
Update: Game now works with Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers without a Windows 7 fix
However, game still runs horribly. You still start off way above the cart in the menu. Your controllers will point a white dot during the ride, so you have to point them down to avoid seeing them. And for whatever reason, game looks worse now. Several objects are blurry. Literally the game hurts my eyes and I don't want to play it. My original review is below. Does not work on Oculus Rift. You have to do Windows 7 compatability fix just to get it to run without you starting the game under the rails. Which is funny because in the menu you start off fine. Once the ride starts, by pressing spacebar, you are under the rails. When you do the Windows 7 compatability fix, then you are way over the rails in the menu. But when you start the game, you're just right where you're supposed to be. It doesn't end up mattering because there's just too many bugs. Do not buy....

Also playing on a Vive. The lack of controller support is lame, there is no instruction at all regarding even starting the ride. After some keyboard mashing I did get the coaster going (space bar), but thought my sound was broken. The intro has music, but the coaster ride itself does not. Lastly, I have a fairly strong stomach and do usually get affected by motion sickness, but this one had me on the verge. It is just to 'abrupt'; the experience could be much better by smoothing out some of the lurchy motions. It has potential, but still needs work.

I have Oculus Rift, this game can't be adjusted to my eye distance. So I watched the whole experience crosseyed. :/ And it gave me motion sickness, because of that. It's really short and it doesn't work well. It's not worth it even for free...
