**Edit** How the **** does this have "mostly positive" review? Look at the achievements! **HALF** the people stop playing before finishing the prologue, because it's just that dull! Gorgeous, but dull AF. Wall after wall after wall of innate text. It's dull, uninteresting walls of text. The choices characters make, and ones I'm forced to make, are not ones anyone would make. Combat is a joke. The AI just kind floats there and kinda shoots... sometimes. The player just floats there... and kinda shoots... some times. The accuracy is ridiculously bad. Even when the entire ship fills the reticule, I'm still doing 0 damage. So every fight is: Get point blank and stop engines until all enemies dead. Shield regen and weapon energy regen are the only 2 stats that matter. And it's very clear this game was made by ppl that don't play games. To many industry standard QoL features missing... No F5 for quicksave? Really? That's been a standard for what? 20 years? No quick dock? I...

Nice idea, meh implementation. Writing is completely random ranging from fairly good to absolutely terrible. Pacing is not existant with completely random bits of info suddenly emerging for no reason, often way after you could have used them - especially parts of Captain story. Gameplay consists of 3 parts [list] [*]ship combat - its shallow. even by arcade standards. Given that your crew and weapons quality+level immensly buffs stats everything else doesnt really matter. There is no real sense of progression when changing ships nor change in playstyle when changing weapons. Add to this very basic enemy AI and tons of scripted (half of story combat have immortal ships so you can "enjoy" monologues) events and you get pretty meh ship combat which is also boring. [*]text quests with rolls - while main questline is, lets say ok, everything else is simply annoying. there are not many unique qusts, most of encounters are just repeats. At some point you will start to ignore them completel...

This is a fantastic game. It has a central story line you can follow which is pretty interesting, you play as a member of the Republic (no not the Star Wars Republic before anyone asks lol). You make your captain, customise your look, choose from a selection of starting ships and thier loadout, choose your emblem, name your ship and your captain and away you go. The games universe has many contracts and side events to discover and is fairly expansive. The game has a fairly good progression but not overly expansive system, not just for you the captain, but also your crewmen and women gaining skill points for the crew even medals which add passive little bonuses. Your ships has a fixed number of slots for weapons (red slots) and devices (blue slots). these you can buy, earn, loot or craft (if you learn the blueprints) and all of them can be upgraded. The game has a crafting system which requires components which you get from scrapping things to break them down, you can also fin...

gameplay is ok, not sure about the dice rolling personal combat but the space combat is fun enough, melting ships as you go. The story is great, had some real emotional points to it... good fun!

A "Hidden Gem" a buyer said and I agreed. That’s So Much More Than Just a Space Game: *Between the Stars* is not just one game but it feels like three great games in one. It blends space combat, RPG-style decision-making, and ship/crew management into something that’s genuinely unique and full of personality. *Between the Stars* is exactly the right combine that I was really have in the back of my mind as a next move of space games after I have played with success of course Elite Dangerous that I already have . Many thanks to Isolated Games.
