About the Game
In Wasteland 3 you take command of a squad of Desert Rangers, lawmen and women in a post-nuclear world, trying to rebuild society from the ashes. More than a century after the bombs fell, you’re fighting a losing battle to keep your beloved Arizona alive. Then the self-proclaimed Patriarch of Colorado radios, promising aid if you'll do a job he can only entrust to an outsider—rescue his land from the ambitions of his three bloodthirsty children.
You’re dispatched on a desperate quest from the scorching deserts to the snowy mountains to start from scratch, building a new base, finding a snow-worthy vehicle, training new recruits, and fighting your way through hostile frozen wastes. All the while, you'll have to decide who to trust in this land torn apart by corruption, intrigue, warring factions, crazed cultists, cutthroat gangs, and bitter sibling rivalries. Build a reputation for yourself by making decisions that will profoundly impact Colorado, its inhabitants and the story you experience. Will you be Colorado’s savior or its worst nightmare?

to anyone thinking of buying this, buy it on sale. so far i think it's a great game and i did want to play this original with my friend but it's hosting is buggy we we're able to hear each other when trying to join the lobby, but we could not join connect to each other, we're still working on it so if anything changes i'll be sure to update this review.
The first few hours of the game is very polished with good voiceovers and animations for talking. Then it kinda goes away all of a sudden. İts a detailed RPG. has some annoying fps drops and random bugs everyonce in a while. The story and characters are pretty interesting. The feeling of exploration is very good. Turn based combat is engaging enough to keep you wanting for more. I can recommend with current price. ıf on sale under 15 USD you should definetly give it a try
Nice graphics upgrade from Wasteland 2, but WL3 tries too hard to be XCOM like. It loses a lot of the gritty, basic RPG feeling in attempt to look new and hip. Combat log is gone. Snarky game script and voice acting tone has been dialed way back from edgy and fun, to boring and generic. But the real reason I won't recommend this game at all is that there are game breaking bugs that aren't patched in the mainline. Specifically, my first random encounter on the main map (2 hrs into the game) I hit the bug where you can't start combat and cannot leave the the encounter back to the main map. The "fix" requires you to contact the publisher for a one-off file patch (or trust the internet to DL the file). This is unacceptable, especially for a game hosted on this platform. I asked for my money back, but unfortunately this game breaker occurred at the 5 hr mark (grown up with responsibilities so 2 hrs of game play takes longer IRL) and my request was flat out denied. Thanks for the support,...
Good tactical RPG. + choices that matter + interesting leveling and skills + cool immersion + stealth missile strikes + cool soundtracks + the plot development is interesting to follow, although everything is predictable +- the graphics (rather the game engine itself) is quite strange, but not bad - you quickly become indifferent to ammo management - a little annoying first companions - although choices matter, morality is not encouraged here. That is, you can do it according to your conscience, but there is zero benefit from it, except that you will feel better. It is more profitable to give in to the slave trade and get loot and additional experience. 8/10
Ambitious RPG, But Weighed Down by Frustration I went into Wasteland 3 with high hopes. A post-apocalyptic CRPG with branching choices, deep role-playing systems, and tactical combat is exactly the kind of game I normally sink dozens of hours into. And to its credit, the ambition is clear — the setting is grim yet quirky, the dialogue trees are extensive, and the freedom to shape your squad and decisions feels promising. Sadly, the execution often gets in the way of the experience, leaving the game feeling more exhausting than rewarding. The combat, while tactical in theory, quickly grows clunky and inconsistent. The turn-based system suffers from poor AI, awkward hit detection, and pacing issues that make battles drag on. What should feel like tense strategic encounters often devolves into repetitive slogging, with enemies taking forever to finish their turns. The difficulty curve is also erratic — some fights are trivial, while others spike suddenly, forcing tedious reloads rat...
Wasteland 3 is a new approach to the great game that the second was, it plays very similar and I highly recommend this game as there's tons of content and multiple routes and paths to take. Do I recommend this game? Yes, at the start its a bit rough, I will not sugar coat that, and stripping your character creation abilities down from 4 to 2 was an interesting choice, but they do allow you to choose other Rangers later on as well as 2 fully voiced companions to accompany you so I will give that the benefit of the doubt. What changes does it bring from the second game? Plenty, the second game is older but a fantastic play and this just brings many changes from a more streamline experience to a tactical choice of when to use your abilities rather than always having access to them as well as a full rework to the leadership system. If youre looking for a true experience, I recommend playing normal with perma death enabled as it will make the game feel more punishing and make decisions...
The writing is pretty bad and the tone is permanently bleak to the point of frustration, but the gameplay is where this works. It's a solid, fun, game which I picked up for less than £10 on sale. At that point it's a steal.
I wish Butterfly could hit me in the head and make me forget all about this masterpiece. I want to play it for the first time again.
scratches the right itch if youre looking for good turnbased combat and a story where your choices actually matter
