not funny i cried
Sweet and spooky! The characters are a delight, Misfortune herself is charming and every line she says is just delivered with perfection. The comedy hit just right for me (maybe an over reliance on toilet humour sometimes, but honestly for an 8 year old protagonist it made sense), and the tragedy too. Content warnings ahoy for this one, child neglect, abuse, emotional trauma, substance abuse, suicide... The way the world has treated her is indeed heartbreaking, and how she sees things as a result of that, the circumstances she finds herself in, it really is sometimes extremely dark and tragic. But ultimately the story and tone was carried by the wonder of Misfortune herself, so it came across almost hopeful, and charming enough to not break my heart too much. The art, music and over all creativity in this game is just outstanding.
