About This Game

WARIUM is a turn-based strategy for creating your empire.

The WARIUM world is a procedurally generated hexagonal map that consists of different biomes. Who knows where you will start your journey. Maybe it will be a cold and empty tundra or a fertile and impassable jungle?

Units capture cells and expand your empire, but be careful: the extended power is easier to crush into smaller ones! Units do not have health, but there is a force parameter. A strong unit can destroy a weaker unit. So hold back the onslaught of the numerous, but weak army of your enemy.

Recruit and upgrade units, build buildings and raise your economy. You are free to choose in which direction to expand your power.

Game process:
  • Sandbox.
  • The world is created by chance.
  • The world consists of islands that are connected to each other by teleports.
  • The world is shrouded in biomes, which differ not only in landscape and fertility, but also in the initial densely populated areas.
  • Up to 30 states can appear on a small field. And up to 900 in the big world.
  • You start playing in the village.
  • To capture the cells, the unit must stand on it.
  • Units gain experience when capturing enemy cells, after which the units can be improved.
  • Build economic and defensive structures.
  • In the game there are several types of units: swordsmen, lancers, cavalry, long-range.
Spearmen are good against cavalry, but weak before swordsmen and long-range.
  • Units contain several branches of upgrade.
  • Discover the world - find tactically advantageous areas of the terrain, fertile cells.
  • If the territory of the state is crushed and ceases to connect with the capital, then it has its own capital and its treasury.
  • To win, you must destroy all enemy states.

Choose your faction and go ahead.

The good: Turn based strategy on a hex game map - this is my favorite genre Variety of terrain and units - the terrain and unit variety helps keep this game fresh The bad: No manual - you have to muddle through to figure out the rules No static maps - There are no maps that you can practice on to get your bearings No difficulty settings - This isn't really a bad thing except there are no fixed maps, tutorials, or even as mentioned above a game manual Everything is random - you can get crushed very quickly because you simply spawn in a bad spot. Everything in my bad section leads me to not recommend this game. It's cheap, but it can't be too difficult to have simple instructions, even if it is in the menu area
TL;DR
Unpolished, slightly problematic, but well worth playing for strategy fans. Overall mark of 6.5/10 with the potential for much higher. The person/people behind ELF should not take any of this personally. I offer this critique in the hopes that ELF is able to make this game excel! And at such a cheap price, just buy it.
Summary
This game has simple mechanics: level up basic units to something more powerful in order to dominate the land, while managing your finances in order to build structures. From such a simple core, one can hope for and maybe expect great depths. With that said, here are a few concerns and suggestions, which I direct toward the developer and anyone considering buying.
Graphics (3/10)
In terms of art and design, there is much room for improvement. This isn't simply about making it shiny and pretty. To effectively communicate visually is a big challenge. Personally, I would reduce the level of detail in the tiles and enlarge th...

Okay... This game is like a simplistical version of Endless Legend. The AI is "smart" and probably cheats like in Age of Empires. But if you play it well, you will defeat the enemy. Try to trick it! You see a small map, but there is more land, you just have to explore more. I did not regret buying this game, because I was occupied and didn't threw the game at a wall after 5 minutes. If you like hexagonical strategy games without too much of documentation, in depth story or sophisticated society systems, then this is the game for you for a very low price as well. And because it works without bugs or whatever, I recommend it. Especially if you have barely money to spend but like to spend lots of hours in strategy games, yeah, go ahead!
Honest "WARIUM" Review
Warium is a great game for a cheap price. It is well worth your money, especially because you can play it again and again. The question is just, how tiring the game will be for you, if you already conquered a huge land about 10 times.
Pros:

I love the simple but great pixled art!
World-Generation is random, so you can play endless games which never are exactly the same!
There is a variety of terrain and units, so the game can be played with a good mix of units and some terrain is more fertile than other!
The game is cheap and gives you quite a bit to play!

Some Facts:

Some people think the grafic would be too easy. I think, it can be better but it is already great and good to go.
The options for how the game will randomly created are too less. There could be more.
Sadly, there aren't many buildings and stuff. I didn't need the buildings, beca...

This game's price point is exactly right. It's pretty poorly designed and really simplistic. But isn't it worth 99 cents to bumblingly attempt to figure out a game with no manual anywhere and no tutorial, laughing at how confused you are and how stupid everything is all the while, then figure it out and facepalm harder than you ever have in your life? If you want to have fun with this you will. Get ready to laugh. And chop down. Always chop down.

The game is good and I got it for what I thought it to be. I love the way it plays but one major flaw puts me off and I'm not going to play this game till something is done about it. Make it possible to take your enemies tiles without having to wait for them to step on tiles you have already taken. This concept makes it nearly impossible when the enemy camps and makes powerful troops such as griffin's and your stuck with a bunch of peasants that can't do anything but keep dying cause THEY CANNOT PROGRESS FORWARD to get any experience when there is clearly plenty of enemy tiles. Please allow the taking of enemy tiles, I would love to play this game and enjoy it. But that is the only thing that puts me off.
