Pixel Puzzle Picross

Annoyance-free implementation of Picross: no ads, no bugs, no storyline. The smallest grid is 15x15, so all levels are at least slightly challenging. Hard Mode adds an interesting twist: to get 3 stars, you must play an error-free game. Single-button mode allows the game to be played on a tablet. The price is higher than other Picross games, but after 30 hours so far, I'm getting my money's worth.

Things I liked about the game: +Tutorial is very well done +Menu is nice +I like the little highlight when a row/column is finished +Some of the final puzzle images are cute (I'm talking about you "Hot coffee" and "Lantern") +You can play in 2 modes: normal and hard mode +This game has one of the faster moving arrows when solving picross with keyboard Some of the things that I didn't like so much: -Music is annoying and loop rapidly meaning if you play for a long time you just have to disable it (option to do so at least) -The overall feel of the game is a bit stiff. When you complete a puzzle nothing moves. I though the game has stopped working the first time. There is no music, stars appear all at once (no animation). I think this could be improved -No indication of when you are about to lose a star in normal mode (make the timer goes red or something to let user know he is about to lose a star) -Some of the puzzle don't have pleasing color (hello 'fire hydrant" !) I think the color...

I am an old griddlers.net fanatic and I did more 'picross' puzzles than I care to count, but it's really nice to find this sort of games on Steam as well. This version has a good number of puzzles that should keep one busy long enough, and implementation is kept really simple (ideal for tablets). The single gripe is probably due to my eyesight as I wish for more contrast between selected squares and background, but I am sure that the developer will fix that quickly.

Good controls, intuitive to use. Decent puzzles, although no really big ones. Puzzles are pretty easy to solve, even on hard mode, if you're used to nonograms. Easy, but enjoyable.

Bog standard Picross. Challenging puzzles. Mediocre aid and navigation (no auto zero row for instance).

Good nonograms for experienced players.

I was obsessed with the Picross games for the DS, as well as the ones in the 3DS store for download. This game is no exception. It's about what you'd expect if you already like Picross-type games. The difficulty does ramp up fairly fast. I dig it!

As i played 90.8 hrs on this game, I have found that my counting skills have greatly improved. Would recommend to anyone who likes nonograms or needs to improve their counting skills.
