This is a VERY casual experience. No pressure to do much of anything but explore and goof off. The characters are unique enough that they feel different from other games like this that I've played in the past, and can get down right weird, but in clean, entertaining ways. That being said, as is, the game still feels just a bit bare bones, in that interactions with the NPC's is limited to chatting with them, and buying selling from the shops. Mo tasks/favors included YET, there is however ample evidence that the developer will eventually work that in. What has been programmed as is feels pretty solid, and there is just enough to do to make the game worth playing right now. Odds are more will come soon.

Village Monsters! Yay! :D To be honest, when I first look at the game, I wasn't that interested to it. IMO, the game banner doesn't do any justice for the game :( (sorry!) Sure there are a lot room to improve in graphics (although I still feel the graphic is really charming, but I guess the graphics still isn't for "everyone" yet), but to justify, it's an EA, so I decided to give it a try and oh boi, I fell in love with it. The gameplay is so smooth, and I didn't expect this to be well-written and so polished. It feels like it's 99% done and playable (minus bugs and lack of content ofc) but it really is enjoyable. The music!!! Unlike other RPG sims' soundtrack that I found weird and annoying, VM's soundtrack is jazzy and very soothing. It feels like you're in the relaxing coffee shop :D. The characters are diverse, and conversations with them are never boring. For an EA, this game really surprises me on how addicting and how great it is. Best of luck, dev! :D

The game is cute and potentially very fun, but It keeps glitching and replaying the cut scene upon entering the woods. It's getting to the point where it is unplayable.

2 Hour First Impressions: A lot of things are still missing but that's what early access is for and obviously a lot of time and effort has already gone into this. It's incredibly charming on its own already and the monsters remind me of fond memories of exploring and talking to monsters in Undertale. For sure gonna be keeping this one. Can't wait to see it fully finished.

Nice relaxing, no-pressure game. Some funny dialogue from the other characters and a nice twist on the classic farming/life sim. Took me a second to work out that you can buy stuff from the shop, and that's how you get seeds to plant, but now I've found my brain I'm looking forward to getting more into it. Love the controls for fishing, obviously it's still in early access so there are a few little bugs but nothing that I've found so far that has hindered my game progress at all. Looking forward to seeing what comes of Village Monsters in the first official release!

A game with great potential, but with game breaking bugs. If the dev ever comes back to fix it, it could be amazing, and I will change my review accordingly. So far, however, they haven't. So don't waste your money.

I got this game on itch.io years ago when it was considered early access and was so delighted by it. I like the characters and the cozy gameplay. I was excited when the update came out, but it seems to have made the game unplayable. It crashed when I tried to do simple things or enter new screens. There is no way to progress with so many bugs. I've waited for any news that it is being worked on, but the dev has been silent since 2023 and we have just entered 2025, so my hopes are dashed. I'd probably love this game if it could be played, but, as of now, it seems like a dead project and it would be a waste of money to buy it as it is. Josh Bossie, if you're out there, I'm rooting for you to update the game/fix bugs so I can come back and change this review to a positive one. I'm not leaving this review to hate on this project, but rather to say I want it to succeed.

I only played for an hour I think. I am loving it. Love the graphics, love the open environment, This is a very casual, relaxing, no deadlines, no pressure, game. You are a person in a town, and you just do stuff. A simple setup but the magic is in the characters you meet and the things you can do. As an oldie playing games, this is a truly a new experience. i've tried the other "life" games, but this is one is perfect. Great buy.

I just started the game and I absolutely adore it. It's incredibly charming. Clearly, this is a labor of love from the start. I really want to see this game grow into its own. I did notice a grammar foible. Also, there's some less than intuitive control choices, but still are easily adjusted to. I fully endorse buying this game simply to support its development. This is something genuinely special.

This game is still in early access but holy darn is it amazing already! Well thought out characters with amazing personalities, beautiful gameplay and an amazing story with wonderful lore. You can tell that the developer truly has a vision for this game, yet they are not afraid to take criticism and further build the game with help from the community. To think that this game is the creation of one lone developer is truly amazing, especially due to the size of this project. 10/10 would recommend!
